• Joins bullpen
The Twins recalled Staumont from Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Staumont has allowed five runs but boasts a 16:3 K:BB over 10.2 relief innings this season with St. Paul. If/when he makes an appearance with the Twins, it will be his first in the majors since he had thoracic outlet syndrome surgery last July. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
  • Picks up first win Tuesday
Stanek (1-0) got the win against the Twins on Tuesday, recording a strikeout over two-thirds of an inning.

Advice: Stanek got his first victory in a Mariners uniform on just 11 pitches, entering the game after Tayler Saucedo suffered a knee injury covering first base. Stanek got the last two outs in the eighth and then became the pitcher of record when Seattle snapped a 6-6 tie with a four-run rally in the ninth. The veteran right-hander has bounced back from a three-appearance stretch where he allowed at least one run to contribute consecutive scoreless outings. Rotowire.com 6 minutes ago
  • Heads back to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Alcala to Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Alcala allowed four runs and threw 48 pitches over two innings in Tuesday's loss to the Mariners, so he's being sent out in favor of a fresh arm. Josh Staumont will join the bullpen. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Call-up official
The Rangers recalled White from Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday.

Advice: White will offer the Rangers some length out of the bullpen for Wednesday's doubleheader in Oakland. If White ends up being needed for multiple innings in relief Wednesday, he could be swapped off the 26-man active roster for another fresh arm heading into the Rangers' weekend series in Colorado. White has made five starts for Round Rock this season, accruing a 5.70 ERA and 1.64 WHIP over 23.2 innings. Rotowire.com 23 minutes ago

  • Called up ahead of Wednesday's start
The Rangers recalled Leiter from Triple-A Round Rock ahead of his scheduled start in the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Athletics in Oakland.

Advice: Texas is designating Leiter as the 27th man for the twin bill, but he won't necessarily be heading back to Round Rock after making his second start of the season for the big club Wednesday. The Rangers surprisingly placed Dane Dunning (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list Wednesday, meaning the team should have an opening in the rotation for a fifth starter heading into next week. Leiter was torched for seven runs in 3.2 innings in his MLB debut April 18 in Detroit, but he gets a favorable draw for his second start in a pitcher-friendly venue against a weak Oakland lineup. • Goes on IL with rotator cuff strain
The Rangers placed Dunning (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list with a right rotator cuff strain.

Advice: The roster move is retroactive to Sunday, one day after Dunning made his seventh start of the season while taking a no-decision against the Royals. The Rangers haven't indicated that Dunning sustained the injury at any point during that outing, but the right-hander's shoulder was evidently bothersome coming out of that start. Dunning is without a precise target date to return from the IL, though manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that the 29-year-old isn't expected to have an especially lengthy stay on the shelf. While Dunning joins Nathan Eovaldi (groin), Max Scherzer (back), Cory Bradford (ribs), Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Tyler Mahle (elbow) on the shelf, the Rangers should have back-end rotation spots available for both Jose Urena and Jack Leiter. • Reds transfer Brandon Williamson to the 60-day IL
Reds transferred LHP Brandon Williamson to the 60-day injured list with a left shoulder strain.

Advice: Williamson is going to need more time to get healthy after suffering a shoulder injury during a spring training game. The 26-year-old southpaw had a respectable 4.46 ERA, 1.28 WHIP with a 98/39 K/BB ratio across 117 innings (23 starts) last season. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago
  • Visit with Dr. ElAttrache scheduled
Waldichuk (elbow) will visit with Dr. Neal ElAttrache on Monday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Waldichuk recently had a setback while throwing a live batting practice session. He was diagnosed last October with a UCL sprain and flexor strain but chose a more conservative Tenex procedure to remove scar tissue and help alleviate pain. More will be known after Monday's exam, but his upcoming meeting with Dr. ElAttrache would seem to suggest that Waldichuk's treatment plan hasn't panned out as anticipated. • Moved to 60-day IL
The Reds transferred Williamson (shoulder) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday.

Advice: The move frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for Mike Ford. Williamson will begin a rehab assignment Thursday as he works his way back from a left shoulder strain, but he'll need some time to get ramped back up and now won't be eligible for activation until late May.
