    Mateo went 1-for-2 with a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Nationals.

    Advice: Mateo reached the 30-steal mark for the second year in a row, and he did it with four thefts over his last 10 contests. The shortstop has regularly been in the lineup versus southpaws lately, but he's seen minimal playing time versus righties. For the season, Mateo has a .219/.270/.344 slash line with seven home runs, 33 RBI and 56 runs scored over 112 contests, but he's hit just .180 with one homer since the start of May.     Maeda is not scheduled for another start this season, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Maeda last pitched on Sept. 19, when he struck out eight over five scoreless innings in Cincinnati. He projects to be used as a reliever in the postseason, and the Twins look to be shifting him to that role now. Maeda figures to see some bullpen work this weekend in Colorado so he doesn't go into the playoffs following such a long layoff.     Advice: Suarez was a consummate thorn in the side of Astros pitching all night after going hitless over his previous two games. The veteran slugger is mired in an 11-game homerless streak, but he's carrying a double-digit walk rate (10.3 percent) for the sixth time in the last seven seasons, while his 94 RBI are his most since 2019 and is second on the Mariners behind Julio Rodriguez.     Advice: The steal was Laureano's first since Aug. 10. The outfielder is hitting .250 with six extra-base hits and five RBI over 19 contests in September while serving as a fourth outfielder.     Lopez will start Game 1 of the Wild Card Series for the Twins, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

    Advice: It comes as no surprise since it's the way the pitchers have been lined up, but it will be Lopez in the first game and Sonny Gray in Game 2 against a yet-to-be-determined opponent. Lopez is certainly deserving of the honor, as he finished the regular season with a 3.66 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 234:48 K:BB over 194 innings in his first year in Minnesota.     Correa (foot) will not rejoin the Twins before the end of the regular season, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

    Advice: The original plan had been for Correa to travel with the Twins to Colorado for their final series of the regular season. However, the decision has been made for him to stay back and participate in simulated games instead. It is not being viewed as a setback, as Correa still appears in line to play in Game 1 of the Wild Card round next week.     Yarbrough is listed as the Dodgers' probable starting pitcher for Thursday's game against the Rockies.

He's worked three-plus innings in nine of his 10 outings with the Dodgers, pitching to a 3.12 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 34.2 innings. Though he'll draw his first MLB start Thursday, Jarvis hasn't covered more than 3.2 innings in any of his appearances with Arizona or Reno since the beginning of August, so he may not be asked to work especially deep into the contest.
