• Turns in quality start
Gilbert allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk over six innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out one during the win over the Yankees.

Advice: Gilbert coughed up two runs in the first inning but was still able to settle in for a quality start. He produced a stellar 1.69 ERA through his first seven starts but has seen that climb to 3.20 after allowing 14 runs over his last 16.2 frames. On the bright side, two of those outings were quality starts. Gilbert recorded only one strikeout with five whiffs, with both setting new season lows. His next start is lined up to be in Washington this weekend. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

  • Reese Olson (hip) expects to make next start
Reese Olson is optimistic that he won’t miss any additional time after leaving his start Monday with a right hip contusion.

Advice: Olson said he blacked out for a second after the ball hit him, which definitely tracks with how he looked initially. Fortunately, there shouldn’t be any lasting damage. Olson did wind up taking another tough loss to the Royals after leaving down 2-0 the third. He’s now 0-5 in spite of a 2.16 ERA. Rotoworld 22 minutes ago

  • Gray appears to ask out of game Monday
Sonny Gray allowed one earned run, struck out six in 5 2/3 innings, picked up the win and appeared to ask Cardinals manager Oli Marmol to remove him from the game in the Cardinals 6-3 victory over the Orioles on Monday.

Advice: We’ll have another update on Gray’s status when we know more. The win was Gray’s sixth of the season. He cruised through the first five innings. In the sixth inning, after two men reached on an errors, he allowed a three-run home run to Gunnar Henderson. Four batters later, he appeared to ask out of the game and was removed for JoJo Romero, who escaped the jam. The 34-year-old right-hander is tentatively scheduled to face the Cubs at home on Saturday.

  • Gets hit hard Monday
Wentz allowed five runs on five hits out of the bullpen while not retiring a single batter in Monday's 8-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: Wentz had his first true disaster outing of the season, which included allowing his first home run of the year to Salvador Perez. The lefty came into the game with a stellar 1.08 ERA but departed with that figure up to 3.78. One bad appearance doesn't undo nearly two months of solid play, though after Wentz struggled mightily in 2023, it was fair to expect some regression after his great start to the season. • Kremer allows five in loss Monday
Dean Kremer allowed five runs in four innings and took the loss against the Cardinals on Monday.

Advice: Kremer gave up an RBI single to Michael Siani, an RBI double to Masyn Winn and a three-run home run to Michael Siani. He allowed six hits total, walked three and struck out only two. His ERA is now 4.32 on the season and the loss was his fourth of the year. Kremer has 49 strikeouts in 50 innings on the season and a 1.12 WHIP, but you have to wonder if the Orioles might look for an upgrade in their rotation eventually. The 28-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the White Sox on the road on Saturday.

  • Settles for no-decision
Stroman yielded a run on three hits and a walk over 7.1 innings in a no-decision Monday. He struck out six during the win over Seattle.

Advice: Stroman cruised through seven shutout frames before coughing up a solo homer to Dominic Canzone in the eighth inning. Stroman was in line for his fourth win before the Yankees blew the lead in the ninth. He's produced a 2.22 ERA over his last four starts, dropping his season ERA to 3.05 through 56 innings. He's turned in two straight quality starts after failing to finish at least six frames in his previous six appearances. Stroman is in line to start in San Diego this weekend. • Wacha picks up fourth win Monday
Michael Wacha allowed two runs in seven innings and picked up the win in the Royals’ 8-3 victory over the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The win was Wacha’s fourth of the season. He allowed six hits, a walk, and struck out three. The Tigers only runs against Wacha came on a Kerry Carpenter solo home run in the fourth inning and a Colt Keith RBI double in the seventh inning. Wacha’s ERA is now 4.45 on the season. So far he’s rewarded fantasy managers that picked him up for his two-start week. The 32-year-old right-hander is scheduled to face the Rays on the road this weekend.

  • Fans eight in no-decision
Weathers did not factor into the decision Monday against Milwaukee, allowing two runs on two hits and three walks over seven innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Weathers generated 14 whiffs en route to his eight strikeouts, reaching that mark for the first time since punching out 10 on April 16 against San Francisco. The Miami lefty has thrown four consecutive quality starts, posting a 2.67 ERA, 0.70 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB over 27 innings during that time. Weathers is currently slated to make his next start against Arizona on the road this weekend. Rotowire.com 57 minutes ago

  • Yields five runs
Bradley (1-2) allowed five runs on six hits over seven innings Monday, striking out 10 and taking a loss against Boston.

Advice: Bradley worked through three shutout frames before the Red Sox scored three runs in the fourth inning. Nearly all the damage against him came on a pair of two-run homers by Rafael Devers and Ceddanne Rafaela. Despite the poor final line, Bradley turned in his longest start of the year and matched his career best with seven innings. He owns a 4.00 ERA with an impressive 23:3 K:BB through 18 innings. His next start is projected to be at home against the Royals this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 7:06 pm
