    • Knocks three hits in loss
Witt went 3-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 11-8 loss to the Padres.

Advice: Witt had multiple hits in five of his last six games in May, adding seven RBI despite just two extra-base hits in that span. The shortstop hit .315 through the end of April and exactly matched that mark in May, showing excellent consistency. He's added a stellar .917 OPS, nine home runs, 42 RBI, 51 runs scored, 16 stolen bases, 16 doubles and six triples over 59 contests this season. Rotowire.com 8 minutes ago
    • Goes deep Friday
Keith went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Advice: Keith connected for his second home run of the season in the eighth inning against Boston reliever Greg Weissert. After a slow start to the year, the rookie had a torrid May, slashing .342/.388/.493 with both of his home runs and 14 RBI across 24 games. If Keith keeps this level of performance up in June and beyond, he'll be a huge fantasy asset down the stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 5:51 am

    • Zac Gallen diagnosed with Grade 1 hamstring strain
Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Friday night that Zac Gallen was diagnosed with a Grade 1 hamstring strain.

Advice: That’s obviously good news, as Grade 1 is the least severe of the strains. The 28-year-old hurler dealt with a similar injury back in 2021 and wound up missing the minimum 15 days of action. The Diamondbacks are hopeful that he’ll face a similar timeline this time as well and that he’ll be able to return to the starting rotation in mid-June when he’s eligible. • Nick Gonzales with two more hits
Nick Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a run scored against the Blue Jays on Friday.

Advice: Gonzales has been a welcome surprise so far this season slashing .319/.377/.536 across 19 games. His nearly 17% barrel rate would be one of the best in the league if he were a qualified hitter and he should remain a regular for the offensively starved Pirates. • Colt Keith blasts two-run homer in loss on Friday
Colt Keith blasted a two-run homer on Friday night as the Tigers fell to the Red Sox in Boston.

Advice: The 22-year-old second baseman made the final score look at least a bit closer with his 385-foot (101.4 mph EV) two-run shot off of Greg Weissert in the eighth inning. Keith finished the night 1-for-4 and is now hitting .238/.296/.311 with a pair of homers and 19 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:42 pm

    • Lands on IL with hamstring strain
The Diamondbacks placed Gallen on the 15-day injured list Friday due to a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Gallen was pulled from Thursday's start against the Mets after throwing just six pitches without recording an out. He has been dealing with a right hamstring issue since April 26, and the 28-year-old right-hander will now be on the shelf for an extended period of time after aggravating the injury. It's unclear how long Gallen will be sidelined, but if he misses only the minimum, that would put him in line to return June 15 against the White Sox. In a corresponding move, the Diamondbacks recalled right-hander Slade Cecconi from Triple-A Reno. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:10 pm

    • Diamondbacks place Zac Gallen on 15-day IL
Diamondbacks placed RHP Zac Gallen on the 15-day injured list with a right hamstring strain.

Advice: Not long after manager Torey Lovullo said he remained hopeful that Gallen would avoid a trip to the injured list, the club officially placed the right-hander on the 15-day IL. It sounds like the Diamondbacks are hopeful that it will be a minimum stay there, but we’ll see how he progresses over the next two weeks. Slade Cecconi was recalled from Triple-A Reno in a corresponding move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:04 pm

    • Diamondbacks hopeful Gallen (hamstring) avoids IL
Diamondbacks’ manager Torey Lovullo told reporters on Friday that he’s hopeful Zac Gallen (hamstring) will avoid a trip to the injured list.

Advice: The 28-year-old hurler left Thursday’s start after just one batter due to a right hamstring strain. He’s still being evaluated and the Diamondbacks are holding out hope that he’ll be able to avoid a trip to the injured list while accepting the fact that it’s still a very real possibility. Be sure to check back prior to Saturday’s game to see if they do decide to make a roster move. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:42 pm

    • Busch out of lineup Friday
Michael Busch is not in the Cubs’ lineup for their game against the Reds on Friday.

Advice: The Cubs are using Cody Bellinger at first base, Mike Tauchman at DH with Ian Happ, Pete Crow-Armstrong, and Seiya Suzuki in the outfield. Busch takes his turn on the bench Friday. With Crow-Armstrong back in the majors, the Cubs lineup is getting crowded. Busch is hitting .241 with eight home runs in 53 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:31 am
