• Struggling in Hayes' absence
Triolo went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Tuesday against the Brewers.

Advice: Even with Nick Gonzales in the majors, Triolo has continued to serve as an everyday player for the Pirates while playing third base in the absence of Ke'Bryan Hayes (back). Triolo's playing time is likely to be in jeopardy once Hayes can return, however, as he has only two hits across his last 27 at-bats and has just a .521 OPS in 157 plate appearances for the season. • Out against lefty
Keith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Marlins.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Keith will head to the bench for the second game in a row while the Tigers face off against another southpaw starter (Trevor Rogers). Andy Ibanez will spell Keith at second base. Rotowire.com 20 minutes ago

  • Hitting from both sides of plate
Moncada (thigh) has resumed baseball activity for roughly the last week, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Moncada has been swinging from the right side since early May, and he swung left-handed for the first time Monday. He's also been doing some fielding drills and is recovering well from the activity. It's projected that Moncada won't be back until after the All-Star break, though it's possible he will beat that timeline if he continues to have positive results while ramping up. • Goes yard in Tuesday's win
McMahon went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Rockies.

Advice: McMahon got the scoring going for the Rockies with a solo blast to right center off Dylan Cease in the fourth. It was his second home run this month and his first since May 3. He's now rocking a four-game hit streak with multiple hits in two of those while only striking out once over that span. McMahon has been one of the most consistent hitters in their lineup so far this year, slashing .308/.389/.481 with six homers, 22 RBI, 18 runs and a 22:50 BB:K in 180 plate appearances. • Hitless in first rehab game
Mendick (back) went 0-for-5 with a walk in his first rehab game Tuesday with Triple-A Charlotte.

Advice: Mendick served as Charlotte's designated hitter, so he'll presumably need to resume playing the infield at some point during his rehab assignment before the White Sox bring him back from the 10-day injured list, perhaps as soon as this weekend. Following his promotion from Charlotte on April 22, Mendick had briefly settled into a near-everyday role at third base, but it's unclear if he'll recapture a regular starting gig once activated. Prospect Bryan Ramos (quadricep) has since settled in as Chicago's third baseman, and the organization could be inclined to let him continue playing regularly. Rotowire.com Today, 6:20 am

  • Begins hitting, fielding
Perdomo (knee) has started to take live at-bats, hit in the cages and field ground balls, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.

Advice: Perdomo, who's putting in five-to-seven hours per day while rehabbing at Salt River Fields, expressed optimism that he'll return by the end of the month. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo is not ready to put a timeline on the shortstop's return, but acknowledged Perdomo looks good executing the work he's currently doing. Next up, per the manager, is getting spikes on Perdomo's feet and having him run, cut, make turns and the agility to start and stop. Rotowire.com Today, 3:14 am

  • Runs wild in matinee
Lipscomb went 3-for-3 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and three stolen bases in a 6-3 win over the White Sox during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Advice: The Nationals didn't record a single extra-base hit in the matinee, but Lipscomb had no problem getting himself into scoring position -- in addition to his 3-for-3 performance on the basepaths, he advanced to second base on a disengagement violation when he induced Chris Flexen to attempt a third pickoff in the second inning. After going 1-for-4 in the nightcap, Lipscomb is slashing .260/.339/.298 through his first 32 big-league games with one homer, 10 steals, nine RBI and 16 runs. Rotowire.com Today, 12:09 am
  • Luis Guillorme goes 1-for-5 in loss to Cards
Luis Guillorme finished 1-for-5 and failed to get his bat on a suicide squeeze called by manager Ron Washington in the Angels’ one-run loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday.

Advice: It was a bad call from Washington and an incredibly difficult pitch to bunt for Guillorme, being that it was almost a foot off the plate, but Washington trashed Guillorme after the game, taking no responsibility for his decision and hanging Guillorme out to dry. Unless Washington cools down and reconsiders that stance, Guillorme might not play as much going forward. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:24 pm

  • Nabs 10th steal
Garcia went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Mariners.

Advice: Garcia plated an insurance run with his eighth-inning single, and he swiped second shortly after the hit. The third baseman has two steals over the last three games and 10 thefts on the year. He's hit better in May, going 14-for-55 (.254) over 13 contests, lifting his season slash line to .239/.288/.369 with four home runs, 25 RBI and 20 runs scored over 192 plate appearances.
