    • Getting day off
Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox.

Advice: Naylor will get a rest for the series finale after he went 0-for-3 with a strikeout while logging eight innings behind the plate in Saturday's 3-1 loss. David Fry will fill in for Naylor behind the dish. Rotowire.com Today, 10:16 am

    • Collects three hits Saturday
Volpe went 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base in a loss to Tampa Bay on Saturday.

Advice: Volpe was the only Yankee to stand out offensively in the loss -- he was responsible for three of the team's five hits, plated both of the club's runs on a second-inning single and added a stolen base to boot. The young shortstop has reached base safely via hit or walk in nine straight contests, slashing .286/.375/.486 with two homers, seven RBI, seven runs and a 5:11 BB:K over that span. After swiping 24 bags as a rookie last year, Volpe is on pace to exceed that mark with eight steals in nine attempts so far in 2024. Rotowire.com Today, 7:42 am

    • Likely to begin rehab stint Tuesday
Bryant (back) is likely to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Bryant hasn't played since April 13 due to a lower-back strain, but he took a major step forward in his recovery by taking batting practice Friday and Saturday. According to the report, Bryant displayed even more power in Saturday's live BP session than Friday's, leaving the Rockies optimistic that he'll soon be ready to rejoin the big club. Bryant will report to Albuquerque on Tuesday, and if all goes well in his rehab assignment, manager Bud Black left the door open for the four-time All-Star to return to the big club in advance of Friday's series opener in San Francisco. • Crushes grand slam in win
Hernandez went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Saturday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Hernandez jumped on a hanging slider after being down 1-2 in the count with two outs in the sixth and sent it over the wall in left field for a grand slam, putting the Dodgers up 5-0. It marked the outfielder's 11th home run of the season and the fifth in his last eight games. He's now tied with Salvador Perez, Jose Ramirez and Juan Soto for second in the majors with 33 RBI on the season. Rotowire.com Today, 6:09 am
    • Teoscar Hernández hits grand slam to beat Padres
Teoscar Hernández slugged a grand slam on Saturday, lifting the Dodgers to a 5-0 victory over the Padres.

Advice: Hernández continues to make a significant impact in his Los Angeles debut. The 31-year-old lefty-mashing corner outfielder gave the Dodgers a commanding five-run advantage in the sixth inning by taking Padres reliever Enyel De Los Santos deep to left field for his 11th round-tripper of the season. He’s never going to be a standout in the batting average department at this stage of his career, but he’s continuing to hit for a ton of power and has been a run-producing machine in the heart of the Dodgers’ loaded lineup. • Triston McKenzie goes 6 2/3 in loss to White Sox
Triston McKenzie was charged with two runs over 6 2/3 innings on Saturday in a loss to the White Sox.

Advice: McKenzie, who it’s worth noting is pitching through torn ligament in his right elbow, got into trouble early when he allowed a pair of runs in the second inning, which were enough to eventually saddle him with a loss. He struck out five and also handed out a trio of free passes. The 26-year-old righty has shown some signs of improvement following a dreadful stretch to open the year, even if he’s not racking up a ton of strikeouts, allowing two earned runs or fewer in six consecutive starts since April 19. He’ll bring a serviceable 3.54 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 35/24 K/BB ratio across 40 2/3 innings (eight starts) into a home matchup on Friday against the Twins. Rotoworld Today, 3:02 am
    • Posts another strong start
McKenzie (2-3) took the loss against the White Sox on Saturday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and three walks while striking out five batters over 6.2 innings.

Advice: McKenzie was tagged for two runs (one of which was unearned) in the second inning but otherwise kept Chicago off the scoreboard in his second-longest outing of the season. Cleveland was able to give the right-hander only one run of support, however, resulting in his third loss of the season. McKenzie began the campaign by giving up 11 runs (nine earned) over his initial 13 innings, but he's yielded just seven earned runs across 27.2 frames since to lower his ERA to a respectable 3.54. • Early exit in no-decision
Gausman escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-8 win over the Twins, coughing up seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits and two walks over three innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander had given up only two earned runs across his prior four starts, but Gausman's luck deserted him Saturday as Minnesota scored three times in the first inning on some soft singles and shoddy defense, and the adjustments he tried to make in the next two frames only made matters worse. The Jays were able to rally late to take Gausman off the hook for his fourth loss, however. He'll carry a 4.95 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 37:10 K:BB through 36.1 innings into his next outing, which is scheduled to come at home next weekend against the Rays. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm

    • Denies combined no-hit bid
Martinez went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday in a loss to Atlanta.

Advice: Three Atlanta pitchers combined to no-hit New York over 8.2 innings before Martinez slugged a solo shot off Raisel Iglesias to end the bid at history. The long ball was Martinez's first as a Met in his 48th plate appearance. Though his power didn't emerge until Saturday, Martinez has put up a steady .267/.313/.378 slash line through 14 games.
