    • Jarren Duran hitting eighth against southpaw
Jarren Duran is hitting eighth and playing left field Sunday against the Nationals.

Advice: Duran normally hits leadoff for the Red Sox, and while he has gotten on at a .402 clip against southpaws in 2024, he’s picked up just one extra-base hit and slugged .302 against pitchers from that side. He’ll move down in the order with Romy Gonzalez hitting leadoff and handling shortstop duties. Rotoworld Today, 7:29 am

    • Two hits, two stolen bases in loss
Witt went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and two stolen bases in Saturday's loss to the Angels.

Advice: Witt scored Kansas City's first run of the game after reaching on an infield single and stealing second, coming home on a double from Salvador Perez. The star shortstop would later drive in a run with another single in the sixth before stealing his second base of the contest, though he was then thrown out trying to steal third. Witt has now recorded multiple hits in five of 10 games this month. He's batting .314 over that stretch with four RBI, 12 runs and six stolen bases. Rotowire.com Today, 6:39 am
    • Bobby Witt Jr. steals two bases in Royals’ loss
Bobby Witt Jr. went 2-for-4 with an RBI and also stole two bases on Saturday in the Royals’ loss to the Angels.

Advice: Witt was one of the few bright spots for Kansas City during Saturday’s one-sided affair in Los Angeles, recording his second double-digit steal effort of the year. The 23-year-old fantasy superstar is already up to five homers and 15 steals in just 178 plate appearances over 41 games. He seems poised to easily eclipse the 50-steal mark in just his third season at the major league level. Rotoworld Today, 4:25 am
    • Freddy Peralta fans eight Cardinals in no-decision
Freddy Peralta recorded eight strikeouts and yielded three runs over six innings on Saturday in a no-decision against the Cardinals.

Advice: Peralta induced 16 swinging strikes, including 12 alone on his fastball, and finished with a solid 34 percent CSW. The 27-year-old righty continues to pitch at an elite level for fantasy purposes this season with a strong 3.63 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 58/16 K/BB ratio across 44 2/3 innings (eight starts). He’s allowed three earned runs or fewer in seven of his eight starts so far and is in line to face the Astros on Friday in a challenging road matchup. Rotoworld Today, 3:32 am
    • Three extra-base hits Saturday
Mountcastle went 3-for-5 with a triple, two doubles and one run scored in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Mountcastle has been making some loud contact in May, with seven of his 11 hits this month going for extra bases. The first baseman is slashing .288/.331/.511 with six home runs, 18 RBI, 22 runs scored, two stolen bases, 11 doubles and a triple over 35 contests overall. Per Statcast, Mountcastle has a 46.6 percent hard-hit rate this season, the best mark of his career, though his 10.7 percent barrel rate is the lowest it's been in four years. • Modest three-game hitting streak
Bregman went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored Saturday against the Tigers.

Advice: Bregman delivered an RBI single in the fourth inning to extend his hitting streak to three games. While that's not particularly notable, he's collected a hit in three straight starts only two other times this season, with the most recent stretch ending April 15. The end result is that Bregman has just a .201 batting average across 154 plate appearances on the campaign, though he has improved his production of late by tallying six RBI across his last 13 contests. • Another encouraging step Friday
Crawford (oblique) put in a full pregame workout before the Mariners' series opener against the Athletics on Friday, making throws on groundballs and taking batting practice on the field, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Not only is the boost in activity level encouraging, but Crawford confirmed after his workout that he's back to full strength. However, the veteran shortstop also conceded he needed to get his timing at the plate back, making it likely he goes on a rehab assignment of no more than two games before potentially being activated. • Can't keep ball in park Saturday
Steele escaped with a no-decision in Saturday's 10-9 loss to the Pirates, surrendering six runs on six hits -- including three home runs -- and two walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Making just his third start of the season after missing all of April with a hamstring strain, Steele served up homers to Connor Joe and Oneil Cruz in the third inning and Michael Taylor in the fourth, but he got taken off the hook for the loss thanks to a seven-run fifth by the Cubs. Steele has yet to complete five innings in an outing and threw just 74 pitches (53 strikes) Saturday, but he should begin to get stretched out more as he puts the injury further behind him. Steele will take a 4.73 ERA and 11:4 K:BB through 13.1 innings into his next start, which lines up to be a rematch with the Pirates back in Wrigley Field next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:19 pm
    • Strikes out eight in quality start
Peralta allowed three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight over six innings in a no-decision versus the Cardinals on Saturday.

Advice: Peralta threw 71 of 100 pitches for strikes in his return from a five-game suspension. The right-hander earned his first quality start in four outings and his fourth of the year, though he's yet to pitch past the sixth inning this season. He's at a solid 3.63 ERA with a 1.05 WHIP and 58:16 K:BB over 44.2 innings through eight starts. Peralta's next start is projected to be on the road in Houston. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:09 pm
