    Advice: Espinal started at third base in all three games of the Reds' weekend series versus the Dodgers, but he's been a spectator for all three games of the series with St. Louis now that Jeimer Candelario is healthy again after missing time with a neck injury. The Reds will likely to continue to make room for Espinal in the lineup when the team faces left-handed pitchers, but his opportunities to play against right-handers will become more infrequent now that the team has all of its infielders available save for Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) and Matt McLain (shoulder), the latter of whom has been on the injured list all season.     Walls (hip) will have his rehab assignment transferred to Triple-A Durham on Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

    Advice: Walls has been playing in the Florida Complex League for the last week and went 2-for-17 with one home run, two walks and two strikeouts across five games.     Nicky Lopez went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and one RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Blue Jays.

    Advice: The White Sox managed just two runs on the night, with one of them coming on an RBI double in the third inning.     Tim Anderson went 0-for-3 in the loss to the Padres on Tuesday.

    Advice: Anderson probably cost the Marlins the game on defense Monday, and he’s on the short list of the game’s worst hitters at .199/.235/.219 this season. A batting champ in 2019 and an All-Star in both 2021 and ’22, it’s hard to understand why he looks so finished now at age 30.     Garrett Hampson went 1-for-3 with one RBI in Tuesday’s loss to the Twins.

    Advice: Hampson drove in the Royals’ first run of the night when he singled home Nick Loftin in the fifth inning. It was a tough evening for the Royals, as the heart of their order failed to record a hit, leaving Hampson and the lower third of the order to act as run support.     Geraldo Perdomo (knee) is close to starting a minor league rehab assignment.

    Advice: Perdomo will head to the nearby Rookie-level Arizona Complex League for a handful of contests before shifting to facing some higher-level competition at Triple-A Reno.     Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said Tuesday that Perdomo (knee) is expected to play in live games "very, very shortly," Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

    Advice: The 24-year-old has already taken live at-bats but has yet to run thus bases, so he still has a bit of work to do in his rehab program before seeing game action. Lovullo said in mid-May that Perdomo was expected to return from the injured list in a couple weeks, but it instead appears the shortstop's absence will extend into June.
