    Michael Toglia hit a three-run triple in a loss Friday to the Cardinals.

    Advice: Ah, the ole Little League grand slam. Toglia tripled with the bases loaded and came around to score on a Nolan Gorman error. The 25-year-old has shown some pop with a .407 slugging mark, but his .148 average and .179 on-base mark answer any questions about whether he’s worthy of fantasy consideration.   • MJ Melendez homers, drives in four in comeback win
    MJ Melendez hit a two-run homer and drove home four runs in a victory over the Mariners on Friday.

    Advice: Melendez got the Royals back into the game with a three-run blast off Bryce Miller to turn an 8-1 deficit into an 8-4 game. He drove in another run in the sixth on a fielder’s choice. Melendez has been a major disappointment with a slash of .167/.233/.339, but the 25-year-old is far from bereft of offensive talent. Expect better things over the final 90-plus contests.   • Witt Jr. triples home tying run, scores winner
    Bobby WItt Jr. went 3-for-5 with an RBI triple to help the Royals to a 10-9 win over the Mariners on Friday.

    Advice: Superstar gonna superstar. With the Royals trailing 9-8, Witt Jr. spanked a triple down the left-field line to score the tying run, and he scored on a fielder’s choice to give Kansas City the win in a game they trailed 7-0 after the top half of the first inning.   • Brayan Rocchio hits first major league homer
    Brayan Rocchio supplied both Guardians runs with his first big-league homeer Friday in a loss to the Marlins.

    Advice: The homer came in his 276th career plate appearance. He has 192 so far this year, and he’s driven in a total of 11 runs. On the plus side, his defensive numbers have improved in recent weeks, and thanks to a fine 12% walk ate, his .314 OBP isn’t dreadful.
