• Hitting bench Wednesday
Trevino is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Advice: Though he'll give way to Austin Wells behind the plate Wednesday, Trevino appears to be the Yankees' preferred option at catcher for the moment. Trevino started in each of the past three games, with two of those starts coming against right-handers. Rotowire.com 7 minutes ago

  • Taking seat Wednesday
Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Advice: The White Sox are bringing a right-hander (Chris Flexen) to the mound, but he's been far more effective against lefties (.314 wOBA) than righties (.372 wOBA) for his career, which likely explains why the lefty-hitting Rortvedt is on the bench. Alex Jackson will fill in for Rortvedt behind the plate. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

  • Hits in batting cage
Murphy (oblique) has progressed to hitting in the batting cage, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Advice: Murphy's recovery from a Grade 1 left oblique strain has inched along at a snail's pace, but he's finally making real progress. Given that he's already missed nearly six weeks of action, he will no doubt require a handful of rehab games before rejoining Atlanta's active roster. Rotowire.com 56 minutes ago

  • David Fry hits game-tying homer in ninth
David Fry hit a game-tying homer off Andrew Chafin in the ninth inning Wednesday against the Tigers.

Advice: Some curious bullpen management from the Tigers today got Fry a good matchup against a lefty in the ninth and he wound up with his second homer. This was actually a rare start against a righty for Fry, but he went 0-for-3 against them. The homer off Chafin made him 10-for-24 with four extra-base hits, 10 walks and two HBPs versus lefties this season. That’s a ridiculous .595 OBP. Unfortunately, an expanded role for Fry seems even less likely now that Kyle Manzardo is up. Rotoworld Today, 1:37 pm

  • Sean Murphy (oblique) starts hitting in cage
Braves’ manager Brian Snitker told reporters on Wednesday that Sean Murphy (oblique) has progressed to hitting in the batting cages.

Advice: The 29-year-old backstop continues his slow and methodical progress in his return from a Grade 1 oblique strain. It sounds like a minor league rehab stint could be on the horizon soon, though it remains unclear how many games he’ll need there to get his timing back before he’s ready to rejoin the Braves. Travis d’Arnaud will continue holding down the fort for the time being. Rotoworld Today, 1:35 pm

  • Resting Wednesday
Lee is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rays.

Advice: He'll bow out of the starting nine for the series finale in what amounts to a maintenance day after he worked behind the plate both of the previous two days. Martin Maldonado will replace Lee as the White Sox's starting catcher. Rotowire.com Today, 1:15 pm

  • Sits out Wednesday
Jeffers is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

Advice: He will be given a breather while Christian Vazquez does the catching for Chris Paddack. Jeffers has been fantasy's No. 3 catcher so far in Roto leagues, hitting .299 with seven home runs and 26 RBI. Rotowire.com Today, 12:39 pm

  • Back in action Wednesday
Moreno (illness) will start at catcher and bat seventh in Wednesday's game in Cincinnati.

Advice: Moreno missed Tuesday's 6-2 win because he was under the weather, but he's evidently feeling better and ready to give it a go Wednesday. The young catcher is still searching to find his offensive rhythm this season, as he's yet to slug a home run and will carry a .662 OPS into play Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:17 am
  • Resting Wednesday
Amaya is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres.

Advice: Amaya will rest for the series finale after he started at catcher in four of the Cubs' previous five games. Yan Gomes will step in behind the dish Wednesday. Rotowire.com Today, 10:12 am
