      Bassitt allowed a run on four hits and two walks while striking out seven over eight innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Friday.

      Advice: Bassitt tamed one of his former teams, but reliever Chad Green gave up a walk-off hit in the ninth inning. In his longest outing of the year, Bassitt threw 71 of 102 pitches for strikes. He's limited opponents to one run or fewer in five of his 13 starts this season, pitching to a 3.80 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 70:28 K:BB through 73.1 innings.       Scott (5-4) struck out two batters over 1.2 perfect frames and earned a win over the Guardians on Friday.

      Advice: Scott entered a tie game in the eighth inning and forced a double play to escape the first-and-third jam he inherited. He then struck out two in the ninth inning before Miami walked it off in the bottom of the frame. After some early season struggles, Scott has now gone 18 straight innings without allowing an earned run. His season ERA has fallen to 1.40 with a 27:19 K:BB through 25.2 innings.       Tanner Scott pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings and notched a win in relief Friday against the Guardians.

      Advice: Scott came into a tie game in the eighth and stayed in to finish after the Marlins took a one-run lead. It’s his fifth win of the year, all coming since Apr. 30.     • Keller stellar again, picks up eighth win Friday
      Mitch Keller threw six shutout innings and got the win in the Pirates’ 3-0 victory over the Twins on Friday.



      Advice: Keller gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out eight. The win was his eighth of the season. Keller has now won six starts in a row and all of them have been quality starts. His ERA is 1.13 over his last six starts with a .226 average allowed. Keller now has a 3.16 ERA and SO:BB of 74:22 in 13 starts this year. The 28-year-old right-hander is set to face the Cardinals on the road next week.

    • Perfect for save No. 8
      Fairbanks picked up the save Wednesday against Miami, striking out one over a perfect inning.

      Advice: Fairbanks tossed a perfect inning for the second consecutive night and extended his streak of appearances without an earned run to 12. He's allowed just seven hits and two walks during that stretch with 11 punchouts. Despite a nearly three-week IL stint, Fairbanks has eight saves in nine attempts and owns a 3.32 ERA overall.       Manager Rob Thomson said Tuesday that Turnbull will stay in the bullpen while the Phillies remain committed to Taijuan Walker as their No. 5 starter, Dan Gelston of the Associated Press reports.

      Advice: While Walker began the season on the injured list, Turnbull secured a spot in the Opening Day rotation and dazzled over his six starts, going 2-0 with a 1.67 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 36:10 K:BB in 32.1 innings. Shortly after Walker returned from the IL in late April, the Phillies opted to move Turnbull to the bullpen rather than expanding the rotation to six men. Though his performance has taken a step back upon his move to the bullpen, Turnbull is coming off an impressive showing against the Cardinals on Saturday, when he struck out six over three scoreless frames. Walker, meanwhile, hasn't pitched into the seventh inning of his last five turns through the rotation and is sitting on a 5.73 ERA and 1.59 WHIP in 37.2 innings overall through seven starts on the season. At this point, Walker's exorbitant four-year, $72 million contract may be the main reason he's still in the rotation, but his leash has undoubtedly gotten shorter. Walker will start Sunday's game against the Mets in London, but another poor showing could prompt Thomson to change his tune and give Turnbull another look in the rotation.       Pete Fairbanks slammed the door on the Marlins in the ninth inning on Wednesday, preserving a two-run lead to earn his eighth save of the season.

      Advice: The 30-year-old right-hander made quick work of the Marlins in this one, getting Dane Myers on a swinging third strike, Tim Anderson on a ground ball to shortstop and Vidal Brujan on a line drive to center to end it. He needed just 11 pitches (10 strikes) to dispatch of the Fish. On the season, Fairbanks now sports a 3.32 ERA to go with a 22/10 K/BB ratio over 19 innings on the season.
