    • Gets break Sunday
Diaz is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against Milwaukee.

Advice: The 25-year-old will cede catching duties to Victor Caratini as the Astros finish out their series against the Brewers. Diaz has started four of the last five games for Houston, going 3-for-18 with three RBI in that stretch. Rotowire.com 18 minutes ago

    • Makes impact late in win
Lowe went 0-for-4 with two RBI in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings win over the Angels.

Advice: Lowe, who is hitless over his last 13 at-bats, was the late-game hero for the Rangers. He set up extra innings with an run-producing, eighth-inning sacrifice fly, then Lowe was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the 13th for the walk-off win. The two RBI five him 14 over 26 games. Rotowire.com Today, 7:07 am

    • Third straight game with homer
Ward went 2-for-6 with a solo home run in Saturday's 3-2 extra-innings loss to the Rangers.

Advice: Ward was the only Angel with multiple hits in the 13-inning marathon. He's logged three straight multi-hit games, swatting a homer in each of them to reach 10 long balls on the year. The outfielder is slashing .275/.320/.494 with 28 RBI, 27 runs scored, nine doubles and two stolen bases over 45 contests. Ward continues to hold down a near-everyday role in left field as one of the more productive players on the Angels' roster. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:05 pm

    • Lowe gets plunked in 13th to give Rangers win
Nathaniel Lowe drove in two runs including a walk-off hit-by-pitch in the 13th inning against the Angels on Saturday.

Advice: The Angels decided to load the bases with an intentional walk to Corey Seager. It didn’t work out, as Carson Fulmer plunked Lowe to give the Rangers the win. Baseball strategy is a cruel enigma sometimes. Lowe has gotten on at a .391 clip since returning from injury, and he’s driven in 14 runs in 25 games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:02 pm

    • Return delayed multiple weeks
Jung (wrist) still appears to be at least six weeks from returning to the lineup, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung has yet to pick up a bat after undergoing surgery on his right wrist April 2 and is expected to be reevaluated in another 10-to-14 days before being cleared to start taking swings. The initial timeline for his return was 6-to-8 weeks, which was later adjusted to 10-to-12 weeks, and he now appears to be tracking toward the latter end of that estimation, if not later. The repair of his fractured wrist proved to be trickier than initially anticipated, and Texas will likely be cautious in its approach with the budding star at third base, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect him back until late June or early July. • Report: Mets offered Pete Alonso $158M extension
The New York Post’s Joel Sherman reports the Mets offered first baseman Pete Alonso a seven-year, $158 million contract extension last summer.

Advice: Sherman adds that “the sides never got close to a deal.” The 29-year-old impending free agent could still wind up back in New York, but at this point it sounds like he’s going to test the free agent waters to see what other offers might be out there. • Report: Josh Jung (wrist) six weeks from returning
Josh Jung (wrist) is at least six weeks away from returning, reports Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News.

Advice: Ugh. Original post-surgery estimates put Jung’s potential return sometime around 10-12 weeks from the early-April procedure, but he’s progressing slower than originally anticipated. The 26-year-old slugger resumed throwing, fielding ground balls and running earlier this week, but has yet to resume swinging a bat. The -year-old third baseman is seven weeks removed from surgery, and while he hasn’t suffered any setbacks, isn’t likely to return until at least late June or early July. • Goes deep again Friday
Ward went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's 9-3 win against Texas.

Advice: Ward padded what was already a large Angels lead with a solo shot in the sixth inning. It was his second homer in his past two contests and gave him an RBI in three straight games. Ward has gone deep nine times through 188 plate appearances this year, putting him on pace so surpass his career-best mark of 23 long balls set two seasons ago. • Jeremy Peña hits three-run blast in win over MIL
Jeremy Peña hit a three-run homer to help the Astros to a 5-4 win over the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: Peña came up huge for the Astros with a three-run homer off Freddy Peralta that gave the Astros their 5-4 lead in the fifth inning. The shortstop has enjoyed a strong first six-plus weeks of the season, as he’s gone deep five times while slashing .326/.364/.469. This is the version of Peña fantasy managers were hoping to see in 2023. So far, so good in 2024. Rotoworld Friday, 7:55 pm
