    Brewers’ manager Pat Murphy said after Saturday’s loss to the Cubs that he didn’t expect Garrett Mitchell to join the big league roster on Sunday.

    Advice: It’s curious, as Murphy told reporters after Friday’s game that there was no plan to option Mitchell to Triple-A Nashville once his rehab assignment came to an end on Saturday. Something has to give. It sounds like the 25-year-old outfielder is going to remain at the Triple-A level for the time being instead of adding to an already crowded outfield mix in Milwaukee. The 21-year-old outfielder swatted a solo homer off Tanner Houck — one of three homers for the Padres off Houck on Saturday — and he drove in a run with a single for good measure.
