• Stays hot
Cruz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two runs scored Saturday against the Cubs.

Advice: Cruz got off to a slow start to the season, though he's managed multiple hits in four of his last five starts. He's hit .500 in that span, also hitting two home runs while collecting six RBI and five runs scored. Importantly, Cruz has greatly cut down on his strikeout rate, as he's punched out multiple times in a game only three times in his last 17 starts and struck out at just a 23.8 percent clip in that span. • Launches homer in win
Henderson went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Saturday's 5-4 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Henderson regained a share of the major-league lead with his 12th homer of the campaign, putting him in a tie with Atlanta's Marcell Ozuna and Houston's Kyle Tucker. While he's hit two homers over the last three games, Henderson has just three multi-hit efforts in May, a month that's seen him go 8-for-34 (.235) over nine contests. It's little to be concerned about considering how well he's played overall -- he has a .278/.355/.583 slash line with 27 RBI, 30 runs scored and six stolen bases over 38 games. Henderson's in little risk of losing his place as the Orioles' starting shortstop and leadoff hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:51 pm
  • Another encouraging step Friday
Crawford (oblique) put in a full pregame workout before the Mariners' series opener against the Athletics on Friday, making throws on ground balls and taking batting practice on the field, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Not only is the boost in activity level very encouraging, but Crawford confirmed after his workout that he's back to full strength. However, the veteran shortstop also conceded he needed to get his timing at the plate back, making it likely he goes on a rehab assignment of no more than two games before potentially being activated. • Swats homer Saturday
Arcia went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk in a 4-1 win against the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Arcia tagged prized Mets rookie pitcher Christian Scott for a two-run blast in the third inning to give Atlanta an early lead. It was Arcia's second homer over his past three games after we went deep just twice over his first 33 contests of the campaign. The shortstop slugged a career-best 17 long balls last season. • Nico Hoerner clubs solo homer in loss to Pirates
Nico Hoerner clubbed his second home run of the season on Saturday afternoon, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Cubs past the Pirates in a wild one at PNC Park.

Advice: Hoerner tagged Pirates’ phenom Paul Skenes for his 380-foot (99.5 mph EV) wall-scraping solo shot to get the Cubs on the board in the fourth inning. The 26-year-old infielder also drew the first of the Cubs’ six bases-loaded walks in the fifth inning. That’s right, six bases-loaded walks in the fifth inning. He finished the day 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI and two runs scored and is now hitting .272/.351/.397 with two homers, 12 RBI and four stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:44 pm

  • Clubs first homer in loss
Brujan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-3 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Brujan got the scoring started in this one with a leadoff blast off Taijuan Walker in the bottom of the fifth inning. It was his first home run as a Marlin and just his fourth in 130 major-league games. Brujan also singled and was caught stealing, and added an additional run after reaching on a fielder's choice. The 26-year-old has become an everyday player for the Marlins over the last two weeks, starting 13 of the last 15 contests. His production has slowed in May, but Brujan has shown enough since getting regular reps to make him a viable deep-league option. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:26 pm

  • Anthony Volpe plates two runs in loss to Rays
Anthony Volpe went 3-for-4 and drove in both of the Yankees’ runs in Saturday’s loss to the Rays.

Advice: Volpe smacked a two-run single off of Zack Littell in the second inning that gave the Yankees a 2-1 advantage. That would wind up being the extent of their offensive output though. He also singled with two outs in the fifth inning and swiped second base, but the Yankees couldn’t cash him in. Volpe got his third knock off of Jason Adam in the seventh. With his three-hit attack, the 23-year-old shortstop is now hitting .268/.354/.408 with five homers, 20 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm
  • Gunnar Henderson homer helps O’s top D-Backs
Gunnar Henderson homered in a victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday in 11 innings.

Advice: Henderson hit a solo blast of Ryne Nelson in the fifth inning. That’s the 12th homer for the second-year shortstop, and he’s driven in 27 runs over the Orioles’ first 37 games of the year. Henderson has played at a star level for much of 2024, and there’s plenty of reason to believe there’ll be way more good than bad for the infielder for the rest of the season and beyond. • Orlando Arcia hits two-run homer against Mets
Orlando Arcia hit a two-run homer in a victory over the Mets on Saturday.

Advice: Arcia gave Atlanta a 2-0 lead with a two-run shot off an otherwise-effective Christian Scott in the third. The 29-year-old shortstop has homered four times in 2024 with 15 RBI. You can do worse from a middle-infield option. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:59 pm
