• Yuki Matsui gives up three runs in loss
Yuki Matsui was charged with three runs without retiring a batter in taking a loss in relief Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: Matsui also allowed three runs and took a loss in his previous appearance Sunday, so his ERA has quickly jumped from 2.88 to 4.97. He made sense for those speculating on saves back in March, but Robert Suarez has easily outpaced him this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:52 pm
  • Grabs third save
Pressly struck out one in a perfect inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 8-5 win over the Cardinals.

Advice: This was Pressly's first save of the season, to go with seven holds and four blown saves. Regular closer Josh Hader had pitched three of the last five days, including Monday, which likely led to the decision to give Pressly the ninth inning in Tuesday's win. Over his previous nine outings, Pressly had been tagged for six runs (five earned) over 8.2 innings. He's had a rough campaign with a 5.01 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 30:8 K:BB over 23.1 innings after Hader's offseason arrival bumped Pressly into a setup role through no fault of his own. • Settles in for fifth win
Pepiot (4-2) earned the win over the Marlins on Tuesday, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Pepiot got off to an ugly start Tuesday, allowing three runs in the opening frame. However, he'd proceed to blank Miami over his final five frames while allowing just one additional hit while the Rays rallied for a 9-5 victory. The 26-year-old Pepiot now has 15 strikeouts over his last two starts (11.2 innings). His ERA sits at 3.96 on the season with a 0.96 WHIP and 59:16 K:BB across 10 outings (52.1 innings). Pepiot is currently in line for a home matchup with Baltimore early next week in his next start. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:50 pm

  • Steady over five innings
Flexen allowed a run on three hits and struck out four without walking a batter over five innings in a no-decision versus the Cubs on Tuesday.

Advice: This was one of Flexen's better outing this season, and it was the first time he issued zero walks since April 19. His good work was all for naught, as relievers Justin Anderson and Tanner Banks gave up a total of four runs in the sixth inning to squander the White Sox's lead. Flexen has gone five starts without a win, and he hasn't completed more than five innings in any of them. He's at a poor 5.19 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 46:22 K:BB through 59 innings across 13 appearances (11 starts) this year. The right-hander is projected for a home start versus the Red Sox this weekend. • Exits following collision
Munoz was removed from Tuesday's game against the Athletics with an apparent injury, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Munoz collided with Max Schuemann while covering home plate following a wild pitch, appearing to get his right ankle/leg caught underneath the sliding Schuemann. After throwing a warmup pitch, the right-handed reliever was taken out of the game, though he was able to head into the Mariners' clubhouse under his own power. An update on the severity of Munoz's injury should come before Wednesday's game. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:33 pm

  • Andrés Muñoz exits with apparent leg injury
Andrés Muñoz left Tuesday’s game in the ninth inning after a collision at home plate.

Advice: Muñoz appeared to injure his right leg while trying to make a play after a wild pitch. He felt well enough to attempt a warmup pitch afterwards, but he didn’t fully extend on the leg and the decision was made to lift him from the game. Hopefully, this will just be a day-to-day injury. Tayler Saucedo wound up with the save after Muñoz exited tonight, but Ryne Stanek would be the favorite for saves if Muñoz lands on the IL. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:30 pm

  • Dazzles in win
Montas (3-4) allowed one hit and two walks while striking out nine over seven scoreless innings to earn the win over the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Montas navigated Coors Field with ease in his best start of the year. This was his third scoreless outing, though one of those was shortened by a forearm injury versus the Angels on April 21. The right-hander had been struggling to rack up strikeouts prior to Tuesday -- his previous season high was seven. Montas is at a decent 4.00 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 42:20 K:BB over 54 innings across 11 starts this season. He's projected to make his next start at home versus the Cubs. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:14 pm
  • Loses to Reds
Blach (2-3) allowed four runs on 10 hits and struck out two without walking a batter over five innings, taking the loss Tuesday versus the Reds.

Advice: The Rockies had just six baserunners in the contest, giving Blach virtually no support. This was a bit of a step back for the southpaw, who had posted quality starts in each of his previous two outings. Blach is now at a 4.54 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 19:7 K:BB through 39.2 innings over nine appearances (six starts) this season. He's projected to make his next start on the road at St. Louis. • Notches another save Tuesday
Neris worked around a walk to toss a scoreless ninth inning and record the save in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Neris ceded a one-out walk, then watched pinch-runner Duke Ellis swipe second. However, the veteran reliever picked off Ellis to shut down any chance of a rally by the White Sox. Neris now has eight saves in 10 chances this season to go with a solid 2.86 ERA. He's earned a little job security as the Cubs' closer given his strong play, particularly with Opening Day closer Adbert Alzolay (forearm) on the 60-day IL. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:45 pm
