Javier Báez getting a breather on Saturday
Javier Báez is not in the Tigers’ starting lineup for Saturday’s matchup against the Astros.
Advice: It’s starting to get to the point where it’s surprising that the 31-old-shortstop still has a job, despite the massive amount of money remaining on his contract with the Tigers. He’s now hitting a miserable .170/.207/.232 with just one homer, 12 RBI, six stolen bases and a 26/5 K/BB ratio over 121 plate appearances on the season. Zach McKinstry will start in his place at shortstop and will bat eighth against Cristian Javier and the Astros.
