    • Another big performance
Pena went 3-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored Friday against the Twins.

Advice: Pena delivered a pair of RBI singles and a sacrifice fly to account for his production. That continued a strong run, as across his last 15 games Pena has maintained a .298 batting average with two homers, 14 RBI and 11 runs scored. His .118 across 86 games exactly matches his mark from 2023, though he's on pace to easily set new career highs in RBI and stolen bases while also hitting .285. Rotowire.com 16 minutes ago

    • Fighting slump
Candelario went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Friday's 5-4 loss to Detroit.

Advice: The steal was the fourth of the season for Candelario, who swiped a career-high eight bags in 2023. The corner infielder/designated hitter, who reversed a season-opening slump in June, is back on skids. Candelario is 3-for-28 with a 30-percent strikeout rate over the last seven games. • Reaches three times in win
Happ went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI in Friday's 5-1 win over the Angels.

Advice: A day after going 4-for-4 at the plate, Happ remained hot. The outfielder also has eight RBI over the last two games, bringing his season total to 52. He had a career-high 84 RBI last year, and he could make a run at that total in 2024, particularly if he maintains his recent level of production for a longer stretch. Rotowire.com Today, 6:19 am

    • Pablo Lopez surrenders six runs in defeat
Pablo López was tagged for six runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Astros.

Advice: López didn’t allow any extra-base hits tonight, but the singles were all bunched together. Four came in a three-run second inning that featured just one hard-hit ball. The remaining three runs all scored in the sixth after he allowed three singles to begin the inning and was pulled. The loss leaves him 8-7 with a 5.17 ERA, but that just makes him an excellent buy-low candidate in fantasy leagues, Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:53 pm

    • Cole Ragans pitches well in no decision vs. COL
Cole Ragans didn’t factor into the decision despite allowing just two runs in seven innings with eight strikeouts against the Rockies on Friday.

Advice: Ragans did walk three and gave up five hits, but for the most part, it was a very strong outing and a nice bounce back from his struggles against the Guardians (4 2/3 innings, five runs). The left-hander has shown that 2023 was no fluke with a 3.28 ERA and 134/37 K/BB over his 19 starts and 109 2/3 innings of work. He very well could — and should — be named an All-Star, but his last start before that game will come against the Red Sox on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:29 pm

    • Second straight poor start
Glasnow allowed five runs on three hits and two walks while striking out seven over six innings in a no-decision versus the Brewers on Friday.

Advice: All of the damage came in the fourth inning between a Willy Adames RBI single and a Rhys Hoskins grand slam. Glasnow has allowed five runs in back-to-back starts, though he's avoided the loss in both of those outings. For the season, he has a 3.47 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 143:29 K:BB through 109 innings over 18 starts. He's projected to make his next start at Detroit rather than Philadelphia due to the Dodgers inserting Justin Wrobleski into the rotation for a spot start Sunday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:13 pm
    • Alex Verdugo goes 0-for-5 in defeat
Alex Verdugo went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts as the Yankees’ cleanup hitter Friday against the Red Sox.

Advice: Verdugo homered in his first game against his former team last month, but that’s the only homer he’s hit in five weeks since May 29. He’s hitting a modest .244/.301/.392 for the season, and he’s fortunate Jasson Dominguez’s oblique injury has left the Yankees with no quality replacements for him in left field. • Glasnow allows grand slam in no-decision vs. MIL
Tyler Glasnow went six innings while surrendering five runs in a start against the Brewers while not qualifying for a decision.

Advice: If you take away one swing, this start looks a heck of a lot better. Glasnow allowed only three hits while striking out seven and walking two, but whenever you give up a grand slam, you’re literally taking away a chance for a quality start. In this case, the bases were jammed and then cleared by Rhys Hoskins to give Milwaukee a 5-2 lead in the fifth. Fortunately for Glasnow and the Dodgers, Los Angeles was able to score six unanswered to get the win. His final start before the All-Star break is scheduled against the Tigers on Friday. • Strikes out 10 in loss
Gausman (6-8) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings to take the loss Friday versus the Mariners.

Advice: Gausman allowed a two-run double to Luke Raley in the third inning, and that was enough to stick him with his fourth loss in five outings. This was his third 10-strikeout game of the year, as well as his third quality start over his last seven games. He's at a 4.64 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 101:27 K:BB through 97 innings over 18 starts overall. Gausman's next start is projected to be on the road in San Francisco. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:19 pm
