• Ready for rehab assignment
Massey (back) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Omaha.

Advice: On the shelf with a low back ligament sprain, Massey received an injection May 31 and appears to have responded favorably. He was cleared to resume baseball activities early last week and has checked out fine after steadily increasing the intensity of his hitting and running over the last several days. The Royals haven't determined how long Massey's rehab assignment will last, but he may only need two or three games with Omaha to get his timing back at the plate before potentially making his return from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend. • Plays defense in second rehab game
Polanco (hamstring) started at second base in High-A Everett's win over Eugene on Sunday and went 0-for-1 with two walks before being replaced defensively in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Advice: Polanco was able to take another step with his time on the field, even if it was relatively brief. The veteran has reached safely in each of his first two rehab games, and he's now poised to shift his assignment to Triple-A Tacoma when the Rainiers resume play Tuesday. • Swats third homer
Clement went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's win over the Guardians.

Advice: The utility player got the start at third base and hit ninth, and Clement opened the scoring for the Jays in the second inning by taking Ben Lively deep. Clement has multiple hits in three straight starts with three doubles and Sunday's long ball, and he could be slugging his way into more playing time. On the season, the 28-year-old is slashing .264/.286/.421 with three homers, three steals, 11 RBI and 17 runs in 128 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:25 am

  • Logs steal as pinch runner
Bliss entered Sunday's win over the Rangers as a pinch runner in the eighth inning, recording a stolen base and scoring a run without logging an official plate appearance.

Advice: The rookie worked himself into scoring position with his steal of second base and then was driven home with the Mariners' fourth run by Dominic Canzone's single. The cameo marked Bliss' first appearance on the basepaths since last Monday, as he'd failed to reach in any of the nine plate appearances he'd logged over the previous four games. • Productive in Sunday's win
Triolo went 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored Sunday against the Rockies.

Advice: Triolo drew his fourth straight start, though two of those came with Oneil Cruz briefly sidelined. He went only 3-for-14 with seven strikeouts in that span, and he's likely to return to a reserve role so long as Cruz, Nick Gonzales and Ke'Bryan Hayes remain healthy. Rotowire.com Today, 7:43 am

  • Homers in loss
Steer went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Brewers.

Advice: Steer gave the Reds a 3-0 lead in the fourth inning when he belted his eighth home run of the season. He's been quiet of late, having entered the contest on a 4-for-31 (.129) run with one RBI over the previous nine games. Despite the drop in production, Steer leads Cincinnati with 42 RBI. • Gets another start at 3B
Alexander started at third base and went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Sunday's 12-5 win over the White Sox.

Advice: Alexander slotted in at third base for the second time in the last five games, as Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo seeks more production from the hot corner. Eugenio Suarez's season-long slump prompted the manager's decision to give Alexander more starts at third base, a position at which Arizona ranks 29th with a .588 OPS. Rotowire.com Today, 5:32 am
  • Logs third steal
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Cubs.

Advice: Gorman entered Sunday just 1-for-28 over his last seven games, though the slump hasn't cost him playing time. The second baseman picked up a steal after his second-inning single, giving him three thefts on four attempts this year. For the season, Gorman is slashing .208/.287/.442 with 15 home runs, 33 RBI, 30 runs scored and eight doubles over 64 contests. He's also striking out at a 35.5 percent rate, and until he corrects that issue, he's likely to carry a low batting average. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:38 pm

  • Causes mayhem on basepaths
Hamilton went 2-for-4 with one walk, one RBI, four stolen bases and three runs scored in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Yankees.

Advice: Hamilton led the charge as the Red Sox set a franchise record with nine steals in the contest. The speedy infielder has had great success on the basepaths lately, picking up nine steals over his last nine games. He's up to a .288/.340/.446 slash line with 18 thefts, four home runs, 12 RBI, 25 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple over 150 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:43 pm
