• Expected back this weekend
Perez (groin) is expected to rejoin the rotation this weekend in Atlanta, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Perez got his pitch count up to 65 in a rehab outing with Triple-A Indianapolis on Saturday and threw some more pitches in the bullpen following the appearance. He's rejoined the Pirates in Cincinnati and will throw a bullpen session Tuesday. While the team has not yet declared a date for his return to the rotation, it's fully expected to happen this weekend. Perez has been shelved since late May with a strained left groin. • Gaining foothold in everyday lineup
Laureano will start in right field and bat seventh in Monday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Laureano will pick up his fifth consecutive start Monday, with three coming against left-handed pitching and two coming versus righties. The 29-year-old has gone 7-for-23 with four extra-base hits in eight games since getting called up from Triple-A Gwinnett, and he looks like he'll hold down an everyday role in the corner outfield so long as he continues to swing a hot bat. Atlanta is prioritizing Laureano over Adam Duvall, who will take a seat for a second straight matchup with a right-hander (Lance Lynn) after batting just .129 through his first 19 games of June. • Orioles officially promote Kjerstad from AAA
Orioles recalled 1B/OF Heston Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk.

Advice: The rumored move is now official, as the Orioles promote Kjerstad - again - after hitting .301/.390/.601 with 16 homers, 58 RBI, and a pair of stolen bases in 55 games. The bad news for fantasy managers is that the Orioles did not demote Colton Cowser in a corresponding move, meaning the team would need to decide to sit Cowser on the bench and not give him at-bats for Kjerstad to see regular playing time. It would seem to make no sense for one of Kjerstad or Cowser to sit on a major league bench and not play regularly but that might be the situation we’re heading towards. Or they will both split time often enough that each of their fantasy values will take a considerable hit. We’ll have to see how it plays out this week before knowing for sure. • Officially summoned from Triple-A
The Orioles recalled Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Advice: Kjerstad will get another shot with the big club but it's uncertain whether he'll see regular at-bats. He played sparingly during his last stint, starting just four times over a 17-game stretch. Colton Cowser has slashed just .183/.285/.299 since the beginning of May, so it's possible Kjerstad will eat into his playing time in the outfield. Rotowire.com Monday, 9:14 am

  • Powers offense in win
Buxton went 2-for-3 with a solo home run and an RBI double in Sunday's 3-0 win over the Athletics.

Advice: Buxton has an extra-base hit in each of his last three games. This was his first multi-hit effort since June 13. He's hitting .246 (16-for-65) over 18 games in June, right in line with his .245 batting average for the season. Buxton has added a .702 OPS, five homers, 25 RBI, 26 runs scored, five stolen bases, 11 doubles and three triples across 58 contests. He's been given ample rest since returning from a knee injury in May, but he remains the primary center fielder for the Twins. Rotowire.com Sunday, 7:07 pm
  • Orioles set to promote Heston Kjerstad on Monday
Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports that the Orioles plan to promote Heston Kjerstad from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Advice: The 25-year-old slugger doesn’t have anything left to prove at the Triple-A level where he’s slashing .301/.390/.601 with 16 homers, 58 RBI and a pair of stolen bases in 55 games. It’s unclear how he’ll be utilized in Baltimore though. He’s likely to fill the role that Kyle Stowers had before his demotion earlier this week, getting nothing more than the occasional start against right-handed pitching. Without the promise of everyday at-bats, it’s difficult to get excited about his prospects from a fantasy perspective. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:57 pm

  • Byron Buxton goes deep to lead Twins on Sunday
Byron Buxton homered, doubled and drove in a pair of runs on Sunday afternoon, leading the Twins to a 3-0 victory over the Athletics in Oakland.

Advice: Buxton opened the scoring in the ballgame with a monstrous 432-foot (112.7 mph EV) solo shot on the first pitch that he saw from Hogan Harris in the second inning. He then laced a run-scoring double into center field in the seventh inning that extended the Twins’ lead to 2-0. The 30-year-old outfielder finished the day 2-for-3 and is now hitting .245/.294/.408 with five homers and 25 RBI on the season. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:30 pm
  • Out of Sunday's lineup
Jeffers isn't in the Twins' lineup for Sunday's game against Oakland.

Advice: Jeffers has alternated starts behind the plate with Christian Vazquez for most of June, and Sunday will simply mark Vazquez's turn to serve as Minnesota's catcher while batting ninth. Rotowire.com Sunday, 11:18 am

  • Jazz Chisholm Jr. returns at DH on Sunday vs. M’s
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (biceps) is in the lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the Mariners.

Advice: It’s a rare bit of positive injury news for Miami as Chisholm is back at designated hitter for Sunday’s series finale following an early exit from Saturday’s game due to right biceps tightness. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern at the moment and it’s certainly a welcome development for fantasy managers. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:08 am
