• Playing time sparse
Crawford is slashing .107/.194/.107 over 10 games with the Cardinals this season.

Advice: Crawford was signed to serve as backup to rookie Masyn Winn, who has been one of the Cardinals' better hitters. As such, Crawford has seen minimal playing time. All three of his hits this season have been singles, and he's also posted a 3:11 BB:K. The veteran shortstop is unlikely to see a larger role unless Winn suffers an injury or enters a severe slump. • Plays first two rehab games
Diaz (calf) went 0-for-3 with two walks over his first two rehab games with Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday and Sunday.

Advice: Diaz has yet to play a full game, but he did take a trio of plate appearances as the designated hitter when kicking off the rehab assignment Friday. He then progressed to playing defense Sunday, logging five innings at third base in the win over Round Rock. Diaz will probably continue to be given a day off between games for the time being given his age and the length of time it's taken for him to be able to return to game action. • Gets going with home run
Bogaerts went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sundays 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Bogaerts gave the Padres some extra breathing room with a solo shot off Gus Varland in the fifth. The long ball was his first since April 21, his first RBI since April 25 and his first hit in 17 at-bats since May 6. Bogaerts is still searching for a spark offensively this season, as he's slashing just .211/.264/.301 with three homers, 12 RBI, 22 runs and a 12:36 BB:K in 178 plate appearances. • Impactful game in win
Merrill went 3-for-4 with two steals and a run scored in Sunday's 4-0 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Merrill tallied at least three hits in a game for the fourth time this season and it was his 11th multi-hit game of his rookie campaign. Merrill hadn't swiped a bag since April 16 but managed to steal and eventually score in the fourth before taking another base in the eighth. He's settled in nicely thus far, slashing .282/.331/.374 with two homers, 16 RBI, 17 runs, six steals and a 10:23 BB:K in 143 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:00 pm

  • Records ninth steal
Garcia went 1-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Angels.

Advice: Garcia has hit safely in eight of 11 games in May, going 12-for-47 (.255) with four doubles, four RBI and five runs scored. His steal Sunday was his first of the month and his ninth of the season, and he's yet to be caught stealing. The third baseman is slashing .238/.290/.375 with four home runs, 24 RBI and 20 runs scored over 184 plate appearances. While Garcia hasn't profiled as an ideal leadoff hitter, he's done enough to keep that spot through the first quarter of the campaign in a fairly strong lineup. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:52 pm
  • Picks up fifth steal
Espinal went 2-for-5 with a stolen base in Sunday's 6-5 extra-inning loss to the Giants.

Advice: Espinal was one of two Reds with multiple hits in the game, and it was his first such performance since April 24. The infielder hit a poor .121 (4-for-33) over 11 contests in between multi-hit efforts. He's slashing .186/.245/.244 with one home run, 12 RBI, six runs scored and five steals over 30 games this season. Espinal has sat out the last four games in which the Reds have faced a right-handed pitcher, though he's still been in the lineup against the last three southpaws they've faced. • Drives in two
Rafaela went 1-for-3 with a two-RBI double during Sunday's 3-2 win over Washington.

Advice: Rafaela scored Garrett Cooper and Vaughn Grissom in the second inning, notching a double off MacKenzie Gore. Rafaela has generated at least one hit in 11 of his last 13 games, batting .326 with 12 RBI and six runs scored during that stretch. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:22 pm
  • Homers early in win
Tovar went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 3-1 win over the Rangers.

Advice: The Rockies got to Jose Urena early in the first inning, and Tovar's blast was ultimately all they needed in the win. The shortstop has hit safely in six straight games, going 8-for-26 (.308) with four extra-base hits in that span. For the season, he's at a .266/.308/.411 with four homers, 15 RBI, 16 runs scored, three stolen bases, nine doubles and a triple over 39 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:55 pm
  • Mookie Betts collects two hits in loss to Padres
Mookie Betts went 2-for-4 with a double as the Dodgers were shut out by the Padres on Sunday afternoon in San Diego.

Advice: As a team, the Dodgers tallied just four hits in the contest, with Betts accounting for half of them on his own — including their lone extra-base knock. He smacked a one-out double off of Yu Darvish in the sixth inning but was left stranded there. He then singled off of Wandy Peralta with two outs in the eighth inning. The 31-year-old superstar is having another extraordinary season at the dish — slashing .339/.441/.539 with six homers, 27 RBI and eight stolen bases. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:36 pm
