• Next outing coming Friday
Allen is listed as the Guardians' probable pitcher for Friday's game against the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Allen had been in line to work as a primary pitcher out of the bullpen behind opener Nick Sandlin in Wednesday's game against the Royals, but that contest was ultimately postponed due to inclement weather. Whether than pushing Allen's next outing back a day to Thursday's series finale, Tanner Bibee will stay on turn in the rotation and start against Kansas City. Allen is thus set to take the hill for the series opener in Miami, and barring a late change from manager Stephen Vogt, the southpaw looks poised to handle a traditional starting role rather than working behind Sandlin. • Hit hard in Boston
Schwellenbach (0-2) took the loss Wednesday against the Red Sox, allowing six runs on seven hits and two walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out four.

Advice: It was a tough day for Schwellenbach, who allowed three runs in the second inning and another three in the fifth en route to his second loss in as many starts. The 24-year-old right-hander's now allowed nine runs through his first 9.2 innings with Atlanta after pitching to a 2.21 ERA across eight starts between High-A Rome and Double-A Mississippi. If Atlanta elects to keep Schwellenbach in the majors for another turn in the rotation, he'd currently line up for a road matchup in Baltimore early next week. Rotowire.com Today, 7:12 am
  • Added to roster ahead of debut
The Orioles selected Povich's contract from Triple-A Norfolk ahead of his start Thursday against the Blue Jays in Toronto.

Advice: Povich will be making his major-league debut Thursday as the Orioles give the other members of their rotation some extra rest. The rookie left-hander isn't necessarily guaranteed another start with the big club beyond Thursday, but he could certainly earn additional chances if he pitches well against the Blue Jays. Povich has put up a 3.18 ERA and 75:21 K:BB over 56.2 innings covering 11 starts this season with Norfolk. Rotowire.com Today, 7:05 am

  • Mauled by Mets
Corbin (1-7) took the loss Wednesday, surrendering six runs on seven hits -- including three home runs -- and a walk over 5.1 innings as the Nationals were routed 9-1 by the Mets. He struck out three.

Advice: Luis Torrens took him deep twice while Francisco Lindor also belted a homer off Corbin, and two of the other hits off him also went for extra bases. The 34-year-old lefty offers nothing but length at this stage of his career -- Corbin's lasted at least five innings in seven straight starts, but he has a 5.63 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 22:14 K:BB through 40 frames to show for it. He lines up to make his next trip to the mound early next week in Detroit. Rotowire.com Today, 6:08 am
  • Dazzles in fourth win
Severino (4-2) picked up the win in Wednesday's 9-1 rout of the Nationals, allowing one run on seven hits over eight innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

Advice: The right-hander took a shutout into the eighth inning before three straight singles to lead off the frame finally got Washington on the board. Severino hadn't even allowed a runner to reach second base prior to that, and he left the mound having thrown an efficient 92 pitches (62 strikes). The quality start was his fifth of the year, and he'll take a 3.25 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 58:27 K:BB through 72 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come at home next week against the Marlins. • Cruises to win Wednesday
Urena (2-5) earned the win over Detroit on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit and one walk while striking out six batters over 6.2 innings.

Advice: Urena got through five perfect frames until Tigers rookie Justyn-Henry Malloy tagged him for his first MLB homer leading off the sixth inning. Urena rebounded by retiring the next five batters before getting pulled following a two-out walk in the seventh. The veteran righty's 6.2 frames tied a season-high mark and were enough to give him his third quality start over his past five appearances. Despite Urena's strong outing, he may be pushed out of the rotation this weekend if Jon Gray (groin) is ready to return from the injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:59 pm

  • Continues solid pitching as starter
Suarez allowed two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four batters over five innings in a no-decision against Toronto on Wednesday.

Advice: Suarez remained in the rotation for a third straight start and did a good job of keeping Baltimore in the contest with five strong frames. The only damage against him came in the second inning, when he surrendered two runs -- twice as many as he had allowed in his previous two starts combined. Suarez has posted a 1.93 ERA across 14 innings since rejoining the Orioles rotation May 25. He figures to get at least one more start, and possibly more, since Dean Kremer (triceps) has not yet begun a rehab assignment. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:39 pm
  • Registers another quality start
Berrios allowed two runs on six hits and three walks while striking out two batters over six innings in a no-decision against Baltimore on Wednesday.

Advice: Berrios didn't do much in the strikeout department with just two punchouts, but he was nonetheless very effective in recording his fifth straight quality start. The right-hander has just one win during that span but has put up a very solid 2.73 ERA. Aside from an eight-run, 3.2 inning blowup against Philadelphia on May 7, Berrios has been a model of consistency this season, allowing three or fewer runs in each of his other 12 starts. On the campaign, he's registered a 2.80 ERA along with a 60:21 K:BB across 80.1 innings. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:32 pm
  • José Berríos delivers quality start versus Orioles
José Berríos allowed two runs over six innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Orioles.

Advice: Berríos delivered a sixth straight quality start, though he has only one win during the span. Tonight’s outing did nothing at all for his FIP, which has lagged way behind his ERA all year, but he continued to defy his peripherals in finishing the game with two strikeouts, three walks and a homer allowed (a solo shot to Anthony Santander). He’s 5-4 with a 2.80 ERA. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:18 pm
