    • Arozarena hitting 2nd for Rays on Thursday
Randy Arozarena will hit second for Tampa Bay against the Athletics on Thursday.

Advice: With a left-hander on the mound, the Rays will deploy their right-hand heavy lineup, which means Richie Palacios, Brandon Lowe, and Jonathan Aranda will all head to the bench. That allows Yandy Diaz to lead off and Arozarena to move up to second in the order. The 29-year-old has been struggling for the entirety of the 2024 season, but perhaps hitting in front of the Rays’ middle-of-the-order bats will give him more good pitches to hit and lead to a solid performance. • Connor Wong collects two hits in loss to Orioles
Connor Wong went 2-for-4 and scored the Red Sox’ lone run in Wednesday night’s loss to the Orioles.

Advice: Wong smacked a one-out single off of Corbin Burnes in the opening inning and took second on a throwing error by Colton Cowser. He then went to third on an errant pickoff throw and scored the game’s first run on a ground ball off the bat of Dominic Smith. That would be the extent of the Red Sox’ offense though. With his two-hit attack, the 28-year-old backstop is now slashing .329/.368/.471 with five homers, 19 RBI and a stolen base on the season. Rotoworld Wednesday, 7:09 pm

    • Spencer Steer goes 0-for-4 against Cardinals
Spencer Steer went 0-for-4 in Wednesday’s loss to the Cardinals, dropping his average to .221.

Advice: Steer is hitting .190/.304/.354 this month. His exit velocity numbers and xBA/xSLG stats are all pretty much the same as last year, so it seems likely that he’ll rebound, hopefully in short order. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:40 pm

    • Day off Wednesday
Buxton is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.

Advice: Though Buxton played the entirety of Tuesday's 4-2 win and reached base four times while adding a steal, his knee collided with the left shin of the Royals' Vinnie Pasquantino in the third inning, when Buxton was running down the first-base line. The Twins haven't indicated that Buxton is dealing with anything more than minor wear and tear a day later, but he'll be given some rest Wednesday in any case. Minnesota will go with Willi Castro in center field against Kansas City starting pitcher Seth Lugo. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 1:39 pm

    • Swipes first bag, knocks in run
Wong went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and an RBI in Tuesday's 8-3 win over the Orioles.

Advice: Wong swiped his first bag of the season in the fifth inning then produced an insurance run with an eighth-inning single. The catcher, who batted .235 last season, continued a breakout at the dish and is batting .324 with an .836 OPS over 136 plate appearances. A .364 BABIP portends a correction is coming, but Wong is making more consistent contact and nearly halved his strikeout percentage, from 33.3 percent in 2023 to 17.6 percent in 2024. • Crosses plate four times
Ramirez went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run, two walks and four total runs scored in Tuesday's 13-7 win over the Rockies.

Advice: Ramirez has five multi-hit efforts, five homers and 15 RBI over his last seven contests. He opened the scoring in the first inning with his team-leading 16th homer of the campaign. The third baseman has added a major-league-best 56 RBI with 41 runs scored, eight stolen bases and a .272/.328/.558 slash line over 54 games this season. Ramirez was batting as low as .227 with a .667 OPS on May 4, but he's powered up in a big way over the course of this month. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 9:52 pm

    • José Ramírez homers, scores four times in victory
José Ramírez homered, doubled, walked twice and scored four runs against the Rockies on Tuesday.

Advice: Ramírez has spent most of the year with a slash line well below his usual standards, but going 16-for-44 with seven homers and six doubles in his last 11 games has pushed him up to .272/.328/.558, and he now has eight more RBI (56) than anyone else in the majors. • Reaches four times
Buxton went 2-for-2 with a run scored, a stolen base and two walks during Tuesday's 4-2 win over Kansas City.

Advice: Buxton got on base in all four plate appearances, logging an infield single in the third frame and generating a triple in the fifth. It wasn't until the bottom of the eighth that Buxton came around to score, reaching via a base on balls and stealing second base before being plated by Edouard Julien on a base hit. Since returning from the IL on May 18, Buxton is batting .267 with two homers while also generating a 27.3 percent strikeout rate. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 8:45 pm

    • Sitting against lefty
Garcia is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest against Atlanta.

Advice: With southpaw Max Fried on the hill for Atlanta, the left-handed hitting Garcia will yield to switch-hitter Ildemaro Vargas at second base. Garcia has made just three starts against lefties this season. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 1:01 pm
