    • Locks down fifth save
Scott earned the save in Wednesday's 2-0 win over the Tigers, allowing two hits while striking out one in a scoreless inning.

Advice: The Tigers made things interesting with a pair of two-out singles off Scott in the ninth inning before the left-hander struck out Riley Greene, who represented the winning run, closing out Miami's shutout victory. Scott hasn't allowed an earned run in his last 10.1 innings, striking out 12 in that span. He's 5-for-6 in save opportunities with a 2.00 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 19:17 K:BB across 18 innings this season. • Tanner Scott escapes Wednesday with fifth save
Tanner Scott navigated a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday against the Tigers to record his fifth save of the season.

Advice: Scott was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the final frame and immediately made things interesting, per usual, giving up back-to-back two-out singles to Javier Báez and Carson Kelly, respectively, before striking out pinch-hitter Riley Greene to end the contest. The 29-year-old lefty has walked a proverbial tightrope this season, managing to convert five of six save opportunities this season despite a troublesome 19/17 K/BB ratio across 18 innings of work. • Nabs win Tuesday
Scott (2-4) picked up the win in Tuesday's extra-inning victory over the Tigers, giving up a hit and a walk in a scoreless ninth inning. He struck out two.

Advice: Rather than being held back for a possible save situation in extra innings on the road, Scott got the call in the ninth with the score tied 0-0 and was able to escape the jam he created. The southpaw hasn't allowed an earned run in 10 straight appearances, but Scott's been far from sharp during that time, posting an 11:7 K:BB in 9.1 innings. That's still an improvement on his early-season performance, and his 2.12 ERA on the year isn't supported by his 1.53 WHIP or 18:17 K:BB in 17 frames. Scott is still the Marlins' closer and has converted four of five save chances, but A.J. Puk got the save in the 10th inning Tuesday and could be a threat to take the job now that he's moved back into the bullpen. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:24 am
    • Blows save Monday
Diaz (1-2) allowed two runs on a hit, a hit batsman and two walks without striking out a batter in one-third of an inning to take the loss and a blown save Monday versus the Diamondbacks.

Advice: Diaz loaded the bases with back-to-back one-out walks, and Kevin Newman delivered the walk-off two-run single. This was Diaz's first blown save since his season debut, but he's hardly been dominant lately, allowing seven runs with a 5:6 K:BB over his last 3.2 innings. The closer has a 6.75 ERA, 1.64 WHIP and 16:12 K:BB while converting seven of nine save chances through 14.2 innings on the year. Rotowire.com Monday, 11:41 pm

    • Alexis Díaz blows save, gets loss vs. Diamondbacks
Alexis Díaz blew a save while picking up a loss Monday by allowing two runs and getting just one out Monday against the Diamondbacks.

Advice: The Díaz experience in 2024 has been interesting, to say the least, and probably is too kind of a description. The right-hander threw 9-of-21 pitches for strikes while issuing a pair of walks, and he gave up a two-run single to blow his second save and pick up his second loss. It seems likely that Díaz will remain the closer, but this does not look like the strong option that he was in 2023. Not yet, anyway. Rotoworld Monday, 10:06 pm

    • Bednar tosses scoreless ninth for save
David Bednar picked up the save in the Pirates’ win over the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: The Pirates were up 7-2 before a Jake Bauers grand slam in the eighth inning made it a one-run game. Bednar turned in a clean ninth inning for his eighth save of the season. He lowered his ERA to 8.44 on the season. Considering how Bednar has pitched this year and the Brewers storming back in this game, it was a clutch save. Rotoworld Monday, 8:19 pm
    • Notches eighth save
Bednar struck out one batter in a perfect ninth inning to earn a save over the Brewers on Monday.

Advice: Bednar retired the middle of Milwaukee's lineup in order to finish off the 8-6 win. He's converted eight of his 11 save chances this season, including seven in a row. However, he's registered a 6.94 ERA over his last 12 appearances since blowing a save chance against Detroit on April 9. Bednar has given up just one run over his last five frames and appears to be settling back into his usual groove. Rotowire.com Monday, 7:56 pm
    • Collects seventh save
Bednar gave up a run on two hits in the ninth inning Saturday to record his seventh save of the season in a 10-9 win over the Cubs.

Advice: The right-hander made things interesting, giving up back-to-back hits to begin the ninth and allowing the tying run to get to third base with two outs, but Bednar escaped the jam. He's converted his last six save chances but has been volatile while doing it, getting tagged for runs in five of 11 appearances over that stretch while posting an 8.38 ERA and 12:3 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Bednar still has a grip on the Pirates' closer role and there is incentive to keep him in the ninth inning and build his trade value. Rotowire.com Saturday, 9:31 pm
    • David Bednar allows run, still picks up save
David Bednar picked up a save despite allowing a run against the Cubs on Saturday.

Advice: Bednar continues to pitch at a shaky level, but at least he was able to procure a save; his seventh of the season. The run allowed sees his ERA still sit at an unhealthy 9.64, and fantasy managers have a right to be a little discouraged by how Bednar has pitched over this first month-plus of the season.
