    • Idle Tuesday
McCormick is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: McCormick has just one hit in his last 16 at-bats and will take a seat for the second time in four games. Yordan Alvarez, Jake Meyers and Mauricio Dubon fill the outfield from left to right. Rotowire.com 37 minutes ago

    • Back in action
Vaughn (finger) will play first and bat second for Tuesday's game against the Cubs.

Advice: Vaughn sprained his left ring finger over the weekend and missed the entirety of the White Sox's three-game series with the Brewers. However, after a team day off Monday, Vaughn will return to the ChiSox lineup in time for a matchup with its Chicago counterpart. Rotowire.com 42 minutes ago

    • Andrew Vaughn back in lineup Tuesday vs. Cubs
Andrew Vaughn (finger) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s series opener against the Cubs.

Advice: Vaughn is back at first base on Tuesday night after missing three straight games due to left finger sprain. It doesn’t sound like a serious concern moving forward. Rotoworld 48 minutes ago

    • Swipes 10th bag
Marte went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a stolen base in Monday's 8-7 win over Washington.

Advice: Marte has been on a heater, recording multiple hits four times in his past five games. During that span, the 35-year-old is batting .473 (9-for-19) with four RBI, two steals and three runs scored. Marte is now up to a .275 batting average on the season with six home runs, 23 RBI, 30 runs scored and 10 steals in 224 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:36 pm

    • Starling Marte posts three hits, steal in victory
Starling Marte went 3-for-5 with a stolen base on Monday in the Mets’ win over the Nationals.

Advice: Marte tallied three singles and also picked up his 10th theft of the season during Monday’s slugfest at Nationals Park. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder is in the midst of an unexpected late-career resurgence as he appears healthy and is really starting to hit his stride at the dish of late, slashing .357/.413/.571 with two homers and two steals over his last 15 games. • Nolan Jones (back) starts rehab assignment
Nolan Jones (back, knee) began a minor league rehab assignment at Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.

Advice: The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder went 0-for-2 with a walk and was hit by a pitch in the contest. He should only need a few games to get his timing back before becoming an option to rejoin the Rockies’ lineup. Prior to landing on the injured list, Jones had struggled to a .170/.243/.277 slash line through his first 26 games with only one home run, seven RBI and a pair of stolen bases. Jones (knee) began a new rehab assignment with Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday, MLB.com reports.

Advice: Jones originally landed on the injured list April 30 with a back issue, but he then injured his knee during his original rehab assignment. It's now the latter issue that is keeping him sidelined, though he played with Albuquerque on Sunday and went 0-for-2 with a walk while also being hit with a pitch and serving as the designated hitter. • Officially demoted to Triple-A
The Twins optioned Julien to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday.

Advice: Julien put up a 132 OPS+ last season as a rookie and opened the 2024 campaign as the Twins' leadoff man against right-handed pitching. While he started off with an .830 OPS in April this season, he posted a .482 OPS with a 36.5 percent strikeout rate since May 1. Julien could regain a regular role with Minnesota later this season, but he'll head to St. Paul for now as he looks to get back on track. Willi Castro will likely take over as the Twins' primary second baseman, with Kyle Farmer being mixed in against lefties. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:40 am

    • Twins option Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul
Twins optioned INF Edouard Julien to Triple-A St. Paul.

Advice: As anticipated, the 25-year-old infielder is sent out to make room on the active roster for the return of Royce Lewis on Tuesday. Julien had been mired in quite the slump — slashing just .169/.274/.181 with zero homers, five RBI and a 36/12 K/BB ratio over 95 plate appearances over his last 32 games dating back to April 28. Hopefully playing every day at the Triple-A level is enough to cure what ails him. We haven’t seen the last of Julien in the big leagues this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 6:14 am
