    • Colt Keith draws start versus left-hander
Even though the Tigers are facing a tough lefty in Cole Ragans, Colt Keith is in the lineup for Wednesday’s game versus the Royals.

Advice: It’s the fourth time this year he’s drawn a start against a lefty. That he’s gone 6-for-8 the last two days certainly helped his cause here. Kerry Carpenter and Wenceel Pérez are taking a seat versus Ragans. Rotoworld 46 minutes ago

    • Knocks two home runs
Tovar went 2-for-5 with two solo home runs in Tuesday's loss to the Athletics.

Advice: Tovar put together his first career multi-homer with solo blasts in the fifth and seventh innings to bring his total up to seven for the season. He's been locked in at the plate for most of May, registering at least a hit in 12 of his last 13 games with six of those being multi-hit efforts. Tovar has entrenched himself in the No. 2 spot in the batting order against righties and has seen himself hitting leadoff against lefties. He's now second on the team with 53 hits and tied for second with 21 RBI. For the year, the 22-year-old is slashing .279/.313/.468 with 21 extra-base hits, 22 runs scored and an 8:60 BB:K in 204 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 8:05 am

    • Settles for quality start Tuesday
Webb came away with a no-decision in Tuesday's 7-6 extra-inning loss to the Pirates, allowing two runs on six hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six.

Advice: The right-hander delivered his third straight quality start and eighth of 2024 on 103 pitches (72 strikes), and Webb left the mound in line for his fifth win of the year only to watch Camilo Doval blow his first save of the season in the ninth inning. Webb will take a 3.03 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 53:18 K:BB through 65.1 innings into his next outing, which lines up to come on the road this weekend against the Mets. Rotowire.com Today, 7:29 am
    • Sitting out Wednesday
Marte isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game in Cleveland, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.

Advice: Marte slugged a home run in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to Cleveland, but he'll get a breather for the Wednesday afternoon tilt. DJ Stewart will fill in in right field for Marte. Rotowire.com Today, 7:10 am

    • Hits ninth in return
McCormick went 0-for-3 with a strikeout Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: McCormick was activated off the injured list Tuesday and started in left field while hitting ninth. He forced Joey Loperfido to the bench, though he'll likely need to hit well to maintain regular playing time. McCormick has struggled early on, hitting just .227 with a .267 slugging percentage while striking out at a 27.9 percent slip across 86 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

    • Ezequiel Tovar homers twice against A’s
Ezequiel Tovar hit a pair of solo homers Tuesday in a losing cause against the A’s.

Advice: In spite of his willingness to swing at anything and everything, Tovar has managed to hit .279/.313/.468 this season. His second homer today, projected at 443 feet, was the second longest of his career and easily the longest among those to come away from Coors Field. He’s actually hit 14 of his 23 career homers on the road, though his batting average is far better at home (.287 to .229). Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:42 pm

    • Records 15th steal
Acuna went 0-for-4 with a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Cubs.

Advice: The steal was Acuna's first since May 4, an unusually long drought without a theft for the speedy outfielder. He was caught on his only attempt over 12 games between steals. Acuna has struggled to get into a rhythm at the plate this season, slashing .247/.355/.351 with three home runs, 12 RBI, 36 runs scored and 15 steals over 203 plate appearances. Some regression from last year's 41-homer, 73-steal campaign was to be expected in 2024, but Acuna's career-low .706 OPS so far has been a brutal over-correction of his fortune. • Stays hot Tuesday
Keith went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI in Tuesday's 10-3 loss to the Royals.

Advice: While the Tigers struggled as a team, Keith continued to roll. The rookie is batting a robust .441 over his last 10 contests, and he's recorded three or more hits in a game three times already this month. Keith came into May batting just .154 but has pushed that figure to .230, and the 22-year-old has a prospect pedigree that suggests he'll be able to sustain this level of play. • Logan Webb let down by bullpen on Tuesday
Logan Webb allowed two runs on six hits in six innings in a no-decision against the Pirates on Tuesday.

Advice: Webb left the game with a 5-2 lead and watched as the Giants blew a 6-2 lead in the bottom of the ninth before losing in extra innings. Webb went back to a change-up-heavy approach on Tuesday, registering just a 17 percent whiff rate but a 28 percent CSW. However, he also allowed an average exit velocity on contact of 96.7 mph and allowed 11 hard-hit baseballs. Lucky for him, just one of those went for extra bases and he was able to lower his ERA to 3.03 on the year. He has a solid start lined up against the Mets this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:14 pm
