    • Charged with blown save
Miller struck out one batter and walked one over 1.2 innings Friday. He was charged with a blown save during the loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Miller entered the game in the eighth innings with the bases jammed and immediately walked in the game-tying run. He then retired five straight batters before the Twins went on to win in the 10th inning. Miller's ERA dropped to 2.27, as he was not charged with a run, but he's now blown two of his last three save chances dating back to May 30. Rotowire.com Today, 4:52 am

    • Up to 23 saves
Helsley worked around a pair of walks in the ninth inning to earn the save in Friday's 3-0 win over the Cubs. He struck out two.

Advice: After recording the first two outs in the ninth, Helsley issued consecutive walks to Seiya Suzuki and Ian Happ before striking out Nico Hoerner to earn his MLB-leading 23rd save of the year. Helsley hasn't blown a save since March 30, in his first appearance of the season. His ERA on the year is down to 2.61 with a 1.13 WHIP and 35:10 K:BB across 31 innings. • Ryan Helsley picks up 23rd save with hitless ninth
Ryan Helsley notched his 23rd save Friday with a hitless ninth against the Cubs.

Advice: Helsley walked a pair of batters with two outs, drawing a visit from the pitching coach, but he then struck out Nico Hoerner to end the game. Since it was his third appearance in four days, he might be down tomorrow, potentially giving Andrew Kittredge a save chance. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:05 pm
    • Hit with first loss
Miller (1-1) took the loss Wednesday, giving up a solo home run in one-third of an inning as the A's fell 5-4 to the Padres.

Advice: With one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jackson Merrill drove the first pitch he saw from Miller down the right-field line for a walk-off homer. The Oakland closer may be wearing down -- over his last eight appearances he's served up three long balls and been scored upon four times, leading to a 5.59 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB through 9.2 innings during that stretch. • Records save No. 22
Helsley allowed one hit and struck out one batter over a scoreless inning to earn a save against the Pirates on Wednesday.

Advice: Helsley had a rough outing Tuesday against Pittsburgh, giving up two runs over one frame to take the loss. He was right back on the mound the next day and bounced back nicely, working around a leadoff single to finish off the victory. Helsley has converted 22 straight save chances since blowing a save in his first opportunity of the campaign, and the 22 saves overall leads all major-league pitchers. • Ryan Helsley notches 22nd save for Cardinals
Ryan Helsley recorded his 22nd save with a scoreless ninth Wednesday against the Pirates.

Advice: Helsley is the major league leader by two saves over the Guardians’ Emmanuel Clase. He’s gotten the save or the win in a full three-quarters (24 of 32) of the Cardinals’ victories to date. Rotoworld Wednesday, 9:20 pm
    • Earns 10th save
Jansen earned a save against the Phillies on Wednesday, allowing one run on one hit and a walk with one strikeout.

Advice: Tasked with protecting a three-run lead in the ninth inning, Jansen allowed Bryce Harper to score after a leadoff double but was able to lock up his first save since May 26. While it was a long stretch between save chances, Jansen is now 10-for-11 on the season and has not blown a save since April 16. He currently owns a 2.91 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 30:11 K:BB in 21.2 innings. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:56 pm

    • Kenley Jansen notches first save of June
Kenley Jansen recorded his 10th save after allowing one run in the ninth Wednesday against the Phillies.

Advice: A softly hit double, a balk and a sac fly produced the run. Fortunately, Jansen entered with a three-run cushion, and he recorded his first save since May 26. It’s not at all his fault; the Red Sox just aren’t generating many save chances these days. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:37 pm

    • Mason Miller serves up walk-off homer to Padres
Mason Miller allowed one run in the ninth inning on Wednesday and was saddled with a loss against the Padres.

Advice: Miller was called upon in a tie ballgame and wound up surrendering a walk-off solo shot to Padres rookie Jackson Merrill. It was just his first loss of the year and second run he’s allowed in four relief appearances this month. The flame-throwing 25-year-old righty has been one of the best high-leverage relievers in baseball and this looks like just a momentary hiccup in an otherwise stellar breakthrough campaign.
