The Rockies designated Carasiti for assignment Saturday.

Advice: After getting lit up for five earned runs in just 1.1 innings over his last two appearances, Carasiti will be jettisoned from Colorado's active roster. He owns a 7.41 ERA and 1.89 WHIP through 58.1 career MLB innings and will likely pass through waivers unclaimed. Rotowire.com 2 minutes ago
  • Diagnosed with hand fracture
Manager Craig Counsell said Saturday that Hoerner has a small fracture in his hand, Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

Advice: Counsell noted that the team's doctors are comfortable with Hoerner playing through his injury once the swelling subsides, and the Cubs will wait a few days to see how his hand recovers before deciding on a potential IL move. Meanwhile, David Bote figures to see regular action at second base while Hoerner is sidelined. Rotowire.com 10 minutes ago

  • Goes four frames in rehab start
Miller (shoulder) tossed four-plus innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters.

Advice: This was Miller's third minor-league rehab appearance, and he's gradually worked up from three frames in his first rehab outing to four innings Friday. The righty hurler wasn't at his sharpest, but he approached a full workload with 85 pitches and sat at 97-98 mph with his fastball, per Eric Stephen of SBNation.com, after experiencing reduced velocity in his prior outing. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Miller's outing Friday that it could be the pitcher's final minor-league appearance before returning to the big club, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, but a decision on Miller's next step has not yet been announced. He's struggled throughout his rehab stint, collecting a 6.97ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 10.1 frames. Rotowire.com 13 minutes ago

  • Back in lineup
Kelenic (wrist) is starting in left field and batting ninth Saturday versus the Nationals

Advice: Kelenic missed Atlanta's last two games after injuring his wrist on a diving catch Wednesday, but it no longer seems to be an issue prior to Saturday's contest. The 24-year-old outfielder has gone 10-for-31 (.323) with three RBI and five runs scored over his last 10 games. Rotowire.com 19 minutes ago

  • Day off Saturday
Diaz isn't in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against St. Louis.

Advice: Diaz will take a seat Saturday after going 1-for-7 with two walks through the first two games of the series. Jacob Stallings will instead get the nod to start at catcher while batting sixth. Rotowire.com 25 minutes ago

  • Austin Hays available off bench Saturday vs. Rays
Austin Hays is available off the bench for Saturday’s game against the Rays.

Advice: Hays remains out of Baltimore’s lineup for the second straight contest after being hit by a pitch in the ribs during Thursday’s series finale against Toronto. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters X-rays came back negative on Hays’ ribs, but they want to stay away from using him in the field at least for a couple more days. Rotoworld 29 minutes ago

  • Sitting as expected
Rodgers (hamstring) isn't in the Rockies' lineup for Saturday's game against the Cardinals.

Advice: Rodgers had to be taken out of Friday's game after his hamstring tightened up on him while running to first base in the fourth inning. The Rockies said the 27-year-old would require treatment for a couple of days, so Alan Trejo will take over at second base and bat ninth Saturday. Rotowire.com 29 minutes ago

  • Dean Kremer (triceps) might skip rehab assignment
Dean Kremer (triceps) will throw a bullpen session this week.

Advice: Orioles manager Brandon Hyde told reporters Kremer is trending in the right direction and they’ll wait until after his next throwing session before determining whether he’ll require a minor league rehab assignment. The 28-year-old righty hit the injured list back in late May with a triceps strain. Rotoworld 32 minutes ago

  • Rockies designate Matt Carasiti for assignment
Rockies designated RHP Matt Carasiti for assignment.

Advice: Carasiti has been jettisoned from Colorado’s 40-man roster after surrendering five runs over his last two relief appearances this week against the Cardinals. The 32-year-old righty reliever holds a calamitous 10.38 ERA, 2.19 WHIP and 7/3 K/BB ratio across 8 2/3 innings (seven appearances) this season in the majors. Rotoworld 36 minutes ago
