    • Fernando Tatis Jr. goes 4-for-5, hits 14th homer
Fernando Tatis Jr. went 4-for-5 with a homer versus the Brewers in Thursday’s victory.

Advice: Tatis had the two hardest-hit balls in the game with his 112-mph homer and 111-mph single. It’s been a month since his last multi-RBI game on May 19, but that’s not really his fault. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:17 pm
    • Another multi-hit game
Mullins went 2-for-6 with a double, a two-run homer and three runs scored in Thursday's win over the Yankees.

Advice: Mullins capitalized on a hanging slider from Luis Gil in the top of the second and sent it into the stands in right field for a two-run shot, giving the Orioles an early 3-1 lead. The outfielder would then add a double in the ninth before coming around to score for a third time, giving him back-to-back multi-hit games. Mullins has also scored multiple runs in two straight contests, while Thursday's home run marked his first long ball since April 26 against the Athletics. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 6:09 pm

    • Lit up for seven runs
Gil (9-2) was hit with the loss against the Orioles on Thursday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings.

Advice: Gil struggled out of the gate, surrendering a leadoff double to open the contest before then eventually allowing one run in the first. However, things would get much worse for the right-hander in the following frame as he failed to retire nine of the next 10 batters he faced, leading to his shortest outing of the campaign. Gil gave up a season-high seven runs on the afternoon and failed to make it through six innings for the third-consecutive start. It also marked his first loss since April 15 against Toronto. • Wilyer Abreu (ankle) set to return on Friday
Wilyer Abreu (ankle) is likely to return for Friday’s series opener against the Reds.

Advice: Abreu hammered a pair of solo homers on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game for Triple-A Worcester and is expected to rejoin the club for the start of a series out in Cincinnati. The 24-year-old has been on the shelf since early June when he suffered a right ankle sprain when he slipped on the dugout steps. His return will provide a lift for the Red Sox, who are riding a five-game winning streak. Rotoworld Yesterday, 5:37 pm

    • Gil hammered for seven runs against Orioles
Luis Gil allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings and took the loss against the Orioles on Thursday.

Advice: Gil gave up eight hits, walked two and struck out one. He was due to have a bad start. Gil entered the game with a .194 BABIP allowed and 83 percent left on base percentage. Both of those took a hit in the seven-run blow up. Gil’s ERA is up to 2.77 on the season. He’ll look to bounce back against the Mets on the road next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:27 pm

    • Fernando Tatis Jr. in lineup Thursday vs. Brewers
Fernando Tatis Jr. is in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Brewers.

Advice: Tatis got a day off earlier this week to address a lingering quad issue that he’s been playing through for the last few weeks. It’s possible the nagging issue has impacted his performance recently as he’s batting .130 (3-for-23) over his last seven games. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:00 pm
    • Long starting streak comes to end
Castro is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Rays.

Advice: For the first time since April 15, Castro will head to the bench, ending a streak of 59 consecutive starts. Though he opened the season in a utility role, Castro has solidified an everyday role thanks to his positional versatility and solid production at the plate. Austin Martin will enter the lineup at second base in place of Castro, who has been dialed in of late with a .368/.429/.605 slash line to go with one home run, six doubles, one stolen base, nine runs and four RBI over his last nine starts. • Nails down 21st save
Finnegan struck out two in a perfect ninth inning Wednesday to record his 21st save of the season in a 3-1 win over Arizona.

Advice: The right-hander breezed through the Diamondbacks' 5-6-7 hitters on 14 pitches (11 strikes) en route to his eighth straight successful conversion. Finnegan has put together the best first half of his career with a 1.72 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 33:10 K:BB through 31.1 innings, but if the Nats fall out of the wild-card picture, he figures to become one of the team's biggest trade chips given that he has just one more year of arbitration eligibility in 2025 before reaching free agency. • Activation possible this weekend
Abreu (ankle) could be activated from the 10-day injured list during this weekend's series against the Reds, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

Advice: Abreu played the second game of a rehab assignment for Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, starting in right field, and signaled his readiness for an activation by launching two solo home runs. He's expected to serve as Worcester's DH on Thursday and should rejoin the Red Sox on Friday or Saturday. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 5:11 am
