    • Chris Sale strikes out nine, earns 12th victory
Chris Sale pitched 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball and struck out nine as the Braves topped the Diamondbacks 6-2 on Tuesday.

Advice: Sale claimed his MLB-best 12th victory. The Braves plan to pitch him again Sunday, which will make him ineligible to participate in the All-Star Game. That’s definitely how they prefer it, though. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:50 pm

    • Resumes baseball activity
Kiner-Falefa (knee) began doing some light running and throwing Tuesday, Arden Zwelling of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Advice: Tuesday marks the first time Kiner-Falefa has participated in any sort of baseball activity since he landed on the injured list last week due to a sprained left knee. He still has a few boxes to check off before being cleared to return to game action and may also require a minor-league rehab assignment, but the 29-year-old seems to be trending in the right direction. • Roughed up in loss
Kremer (4-5) took the loss Sunday against Chicago, allowing seven runs (five earned) on seven hits and three walks over four innings. He struck out three.

Advice: Kremer allowed a run in each of his four innings of work on Tuesday, with the three-run homer served up to Ian Happ in the fourth being the crucial blow. It was Kremer's second start since coming off the IL (triceps), and the veteran continues to be plagued by the long ball, particularly at home. He's given up multiple home runs in four of his five starts at Camden Yards this season. His nine homers allowed in his first five home games this season are the most by an Orioles pitcher since Chris Tillman in 2009. Kremer is scheduled for one more start before the All-Star break, Sunday against the Yankees. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:53 pm
    • Homer, steal in loss
Chisholm went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a stolen base and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.

Advice: Chisholm has shown much more speed than power recently -- he has four steals over his last five games, and his homer Tuesday was his first since June 13. The 26-year-old is up to 11 long balls, 18 thefts, 41 RBI, 39 runs scored and a .258/.328/.417 slash line through 88 contests. Chisholm's rate stats are roughly in line with his career norms, but staying healthy has kept him on track to put up personal bests in most -- if not all -- of the counting-stat categories. • Brenton Doyle smacks two more homers
Brenton Doyle went 3-for-4 with two solo home runs, a double, and a walk on Tuesday against the Reds.

Advice: Doyle has been on fire. The two long balls give him six already in July and he’s been one of the standout performers over the past month of the season. He has a .300/.350/.564 slash line over his last 30 games with eight homers, six steals, and 22 RBI. The defensive standout has done well to be more patient and do significantly more damage on pitches inside the strike zone so far this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 8:12 pm

    • Jazz Chisholm Jr. slugs leadoff homer in defeat
Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-4 with a leadoff homer and also stole a base on Tuesday in the Marlins’ loss to the Astros.

Advice: Chisholm hit his first leadoff homer since May 22 when he took Astros starter Ronel Blanco deep in the opening frame. He had been 4-for-24 (.167) with zero extra base hits to open the month. The dynamic 26-year-old outfielder, who has been at the epicenter of recent trade rumors, has 11 homers and 18 stolen bases through 88 games this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:43 pm
    • Three hits, grand slam in victory
Turner went 3-for-4 with a grand slam in Tuesday's 10-1 win over the Dodgers.

Advice: Turner's grand slam off Bobby Miller put the Phillies ahead 8-0 in the fourth inning. It's the fifth homer in eight games for Turner, who's now batting .341 (28-for-82) with 17 RBI in 19 games since returning from the injured list on June 17. He's slashing .342/.387/.516 through 235 plate appearances this season with eight homers, 27 RBI, 44 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:11 pm

    • Ben Rice homers in loss to Rays
Ben Rice went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in a loss to the Rays on Tuesday.

Advice: The left-handed Rice hit his home run off left-handed reliever Colin Poche, which is always nice to see. It was Rice’s fifth home run on the season and while it was his only hit on the day, the rookie has shown a tremendous eye at the plate, which has given him the on-base skills to force the Yankees to move him to the lead-off spot. Right now, he’s also giving them no reason to take him out of the spot, which gives him solid fantasy value hitting ahead of Aaron Judge and Juan Soto. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:07 pm

    • Jake Irvin hit hard by Mets in loss
Jake Irvin allowed nine hits and six earned runs across six innings against the Mets on Tuesday. He struck out two and walked two in a loss.

Advice: Irvin was tasked with facing the Mets in back-to-back starts and really struggled his second time around. His curveball was lacking its usual depth and didn’t fool the Mets who were taking war-hacks all night. Brandon Nimmo and Francisco Lindor took him deep while Lindor, Francisco Alvarez, and Pete Alonso each hit long foul balls that were just wide of the foul pole. This was the first time Irvin had allowed more than four earned runs since April 24th in what’s otherwise been an excellent first half. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:00 pm
