      Freddy Peralta struggled with his command in a no-decision against the Tigers on Saturday afternoon, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and five walks in just 3 1/3 innings of work.

      Advice: The right-hander struck out three batters on the day. He had to really labor to get 10 outs in the ballgame, needing 94 pitches (56 strikes) to do so. Most of the damage came during a three-run uprising in the second inning as Carson Kelly and Mark Canha contributed run-scoring singles. Peralta got just five swings and misses in the contest, posting an underwhelming CSW of only 24 percent.       Mason Miller fired a perfect ninth inning on Friday against the Blue Jays to pick up his first win of the season.

      Advice: Miller’s fastball velocity was down slightly in this one as he failed to touch triple-digits on three fastballs, but was still averaging a sizzling 99.4 mph in this one. He needed just 12 pitches to strike out a pair of batters in a flawless ninth inning before JJ Bleday delivered a walk-off homer in the bottom of the frame to give him his first win of the year. The hard-thrwoing 25-year-old former top prospect has blossomed into arguably the best reliever in baseball this season with 12 saves to go along with a stellar 2.20 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 54/11 K/BB ratio across 28 2/3 innings (22 appearances).       Miller did not factor into the decision in Friday's 10-9 loss to Kansas City, allowing seven runs on six hits and three walks over five innings. He struck out one.

      Advice: Miller posted his worst start of the season, allowing nine baserunners and seven runs, each marking season worsts. The Seattle right-hander was cruising through three scoreless innings before allowing four runs in the fourth, rounded out by a three-run blast from MJ Melendez.       Framber Valdez went the distance against the Angels tonight, striking out eight in the Astros’ 7-1 victory.

      Advice: The Astros' bullpen was fairly fresh, but Valdez took care of business himself in his seventh career complete game. The lone mistake on his line was a Kevin Pillar solo home run in the second inning. Valdez has quality starts in four of his last five outings, and his strong performance Friday lowered his ERA to 3.53 with a 1.15 WHIP and 50:18 K:BB over 63.2 innings through 10 starts this season.
