    Jon Berti will start at 3B and bat eighth for the Yankees on Thursday against the Twins.

    Advice: Berti has started four games at third base over the last week, with Oswaldo Cabrera starting two and playing second for another. Berti has gone 6-for-19 (.316) in six games since coming off the IL with two steals; however, Cabrera is 9-for-30 (.300) in 10 games in May with six strikeouts and two walks, so he’s certainly not giving the job up to Berti without a fight.     Miranda is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees.

    Advice: Miranda had started at third base in seven of the previous eight contests, but he'll cede the hot corner to Willi Castro in the series finale. Though Miranda has posted an .832 OPS over his last 15 games, his opportunities could soon take a hit with Byron Buxton (knee) having kicked off a rehab assignment and potentially returning from the 10-day injured list as soon as this weekend. Castro has been serving as Buxton's primary replacement in the outfield, but Castro will likely see more time at third base at Miranda's expense once Buxton is activated.     Devers went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday in a loss to the Rays.

    Advice: Devers' sixth-inning solo shot brought Boston to within a run, but it ended up being the final tally for either team. The long ball extended the third baseman's on-base streak to nine contests, and he's hitting .270 with two homers, five RBI and five runs over that stretch. On a less positive note, Devers has struck out at least once in 12 straight games, and his 24.1 percent strikeout rate is on pace to be his worst mark since the abbreviated 2020 campaign.     Paul Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and a walk against the Angels on Wednesday.

    Advice: After drawing a walk in the fourth, Goldschmidt ended the shutout in the sixth inning, putting the Cardinals on the board with a solo homer off Griffin Canning.     Advice: Harper missed Tuesday's contest against New York due to a migraine, but he didn't show any lingering effects of the ailment upon his return to the lineup. The first baseman belted a solo homer to left field in his first at-bat, then plated a pair of runs with a double in the fifth inning. Harper had been in a mini slump coming into the game with a .190 average and just one RBI over his previous five contests, but he appears to be back on track.     Advice: France blasted his 414-foot solo shot off of Royals’ right-hander Alec Marsh in the fourth inning, increasing the M’s early advantage to 2-0.     LeMahieu (foot) is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment Thursday or Friday, Greg Joyce of the New York Post reports.

    Advice: LeMahieu had embarked upon a rehab stint April 23 but lasted only one inning due to soreness in his injured right foot. He's been ramping back up of late by taking live batting practice and fielding grounders, and he recently resumed running the bases.
