• Posts five-out save
Munoz earned the save Tuesday in an 8-5 win over Cleveland, allowing one hit while striking out one over 1.2 innings.

Advice: The Mariners turned to Munoz after Trent Thornton loaded the bases in the eighth. Munoz would proceed to coax a pair of groundouts to get out of the inning before turning in a scoreless ninth, earning his 13th save of the campaign and his third of four or more outs. The 25-year-old Munoz lowered his ERA to a pristine 1.47 this season with a 0.95 WHIP and 42:10 K:BB across 30.2 innings. Rotowire.com Today, 9:01 pm
  • Andrés Muñoz locks down save in win
Andrés Muñoz pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings to lock down the Mariners’ 8-5 win over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Advice: The Mariners brought Muñoz in with the bases loaded with one out in the eighth inning and the Mariners up by four runs. He got a groundout which allowed one run to score but then induced another groundout to end the threat. The 25-year-old has battled through back injuries all season but still has a 1.47 ERA and now has 13 saves. The biggest threat to his value appears to simply be that the Mariners have no problem bringing him in before the ninth inning which will sometimes prevent him from earning saves. • Wins with quality start
Pivetta (4-4) allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk over seven innings Monday, striking out four and earning a win over Toronto.

Advice: Pivetta gave up one run through five frames before allowing solo homers to Justin Turner and Davis Schneider in the sixth and seventh innings, respectively. Pivetta is 2-0 with a 3.50 ERA in three starts this month after posting a disappointing 5.55 ERA in May. For the season, he owns a 3.88 ERA alongside a 59:14 K:BB through 10 starts. Pivetta's next start is projected to be in Cincinnati. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 7:39 pm

  • Pivetta picks up fourth win against Blue Jays
Nick Pivetta allowed three runs in seven innings and got the win in the Red Sox’ 7-3 victory over the Blue Jays on Monday.

Advice: Pivetta gave up nine hits, walked one and struck out four. It was his fourth win in 10 starts this season and he’s now won two of his last three starts. Pivetta allowed a sacrifice fly to Isiah Kiner-Falefa and solo home runs to Justin Turner and Davis Schneider, but that was it for the Toronto offense. His ERA is now 3.88 on the season. The 31-year-old right-hander is set to face the Reds on the road this weekend. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:08 pm

  • Deployed in eighth inning
Munoz walked one and struck out three in a scoreless and hitless eighth inning to earn a hold in Friday's 3-2 win over the Rangers.

Advice: Munoz has been dealing with a back issue for most of June so far, but he's still seen high-leverage work when available. The right-hander was deployed in the eighth inning Friday against the top of the Rangers' lineup, while Ryne Stanek got the call in the ninth and earned the save. Munoz has picked up three holds and a loss over his last four outings, but it seems this is less about his injury and more about a matchups-based approach to the late innings by manager Scott Servais. Munoz has a 1.55 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 41:10 K:BB with 12 saves and six holds through 29 innings this season. Rotowire.com Friday, 10:32 pm
  • Returns with loss Thursday
Munoz (back) picked up the loss Thursday as the Mariners fell to the White Sox, allowing an unearned run in the 10th inning.

Advice: Munoz allowed a walk and a hit before a fielder's choice brought home the automatic runner. The good news was that Munoz didn't allow much in the way of hard contact and generated three swings and misses among his 17 pitches, 11 of which were strikes. Rotowire.com Friday, 12:42 am
  • Struggles early in no-decision
Pivetta did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's 8-6 win over the Phillies, allowing four runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts over four innings.

Advice: It was a rough night from the start, as Pivetta allowed the first three batters he faced to reach base and surrendered two runs in each of the first and third innings. The four walks were a season high, and he allowed at least one baserunner in every inning. Pivetta has been inconsistent this season, with six starts of two or fewer earned runs and three starts yielding five. On the season, Pivetta owns a 3.88 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 55:13 K:BB in nine starts and lines up against the Blue Jays next Monday. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 8:59 pm

  • Nick Pivetta yanked after four versus former team
Nick Pivetta surrendered four runs in four innings Wednesday in a no-decision versus the Phillies.

Advice: Pivetta walked four tonight. He’s issued 11 free passes in his last four starts after totaling two in his first five. Pivetta also struck out four tonight. Oddly enough, his nine starts this season have seen him strike out at least eight on five occasions and no more than four the rest of the time. He’s 3-4 with a 3.88 ERA. Rotoworld Wednesday, 8:37 pm

  • Receives injection for back
Munoz had an MRI and bone scan on his back come back clean, but he received an injection Tuesday to address the lingering soreness, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: The right-hander last pitched Sunday in Kansas City and has made just two appearances in June while battling through the back issue. Munoz hasn't officially been declared unavailable, but the Mariners may try to stay away from him for another day or two as he recovers. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 4:10 pm
