    Advice: Biggio is getting his second start at third base for the Dodgers after going 1-for-3 in his debut for the team Wednesday. Thursday's start comes against righty Michael Lorenzen on the mound for the Rangers. With Max Muncy remaining on the injured list and Enrique Hernandez sitting versus a righty, it appears Biggio will be the primary option at third versus right-handers.   • Blasts homer in win
    Goldschmidt went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Thursday's win against the Pirates.

    Advice: He plated the first runs of the game, taking Mitch Keller deep in the third inning. With the long ball Goldschmidt snapped a 14-game homerless drought. The veteran now has a hit in 11 of his last 12 games, but he still has just five RBI over his last 15 contests.     Brendan Donovan hit his fifth homer Thursday to help the Cardinals edge the Pirates 4-3.

    Advice: Donovan has been dropped in the lineup, even against righties, but he’s making a case for another opportunity hitting first or second with his current eight-game hitting streak.     Donovan went 2-for-3 with a walk, one RBI, a stolen base and one run scored in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Pirates.

    Advice: Donovan extended his hitting streak to seven games. He's gone 9-for-27 (.333) in that span, but just one of those hits has gone for extra bases. The 27-year-old's steal Wednesday was his first of the season, and he's not much of a speed threat after logging just five thefts in 95 games a year ago. Donovan is up to a .247/.322/.368 slash line with four home runs, 28 RBI, 30 runs scored, 15 doubles and one triple over 270 plate appearances this season. He spent much of the first two months of the season batting leadoff versus right-handed pitchers, but Masyn Winn is now atop the order on a near-everyday basis, having hit there in all but two of 11 games in June.     Advice: Seager missed nearly a week due to left hamstring soreness, and he played in a non-defensive capacity as the designated hitter Wednesday. He delivered the biggest hit of the game, a fifth-inning blast that accounted for all of the Rangers' runs. Prior to his absence, Seager had hit safely in 17 of his previous 18 games, batting .354 and slugging .800 in that span. He's up to a .271/.362/.484 slash line with 14 homers, 33 RBI, 30 runs scored and no stolen bases through 58 contests overall.     Walker went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-3 loss to the Angels.

    Advice: Walker has gone 10-for-45 (.222) with two homers and eight RBI over 11 contests in June. The first baseman is up to 13 long balls, 42 RBI, 40 runs scored, 12 doubles, two stolen bases and a .255/.340/.458 slash line through 68 games this season. Walker's power is a bit down from the last two years, but that's at least partially due to bad luck -- entering Wednesday, he had a 50.0 percent hard-hit rate and a 15.1 percent barrel rate this season, up from 40.4 percent and 11.4 percent, respectively, in 2023.     Advice: Seager made his return to the lineup on Wednesday, hitting second as the designated hitter. With two runners on base in the fifth inning, he put the Rangers on the board with a three-run blast off Walker Buehler to give Texas the lead. The three runs would be all the Rangers needed to pick up the win over Los Angeles. The 30-year-old shortstop is slashing .271/.362/.484 with 14 homers and 33 RBI across 254 plate appearances.
