• Available off bench
Mariners manager Scott Servais said that Polanco (hamstring) will be available off the bench Monday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Polanco is missing a sixth straight start Monday, but he's progressed enough with his right hamstring issue that he could enter mid-game, if needed. It would appear he'll have a shot to be back in the lineup Tuesday. Rotowire.com Today, 2:14 pm

  • Manny Machado doubles twice to lead Padres
Manny Machado doubled twice and drove in two runs as the Padres edged the Braves 6-5 in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader

Advice: The two-run hit came in a four-run eighth inning rally that proved decisive. The previous double was Machado’s first extra-base hit since May 4. He also had his first multi-RBI game since that date. We were hoping his numbers would get better as his shoulder got further removed from surgery, but his current .639 OPS is 100 points lower than his mark from a month ago. Rotoworld Today, 1:38 pm

  • Will be primary third baseman
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that LeMahieu (foot) will be the team's primary third baseman when he returns, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Advice: LeMahieu will be eased into everyday duty, though, after missing so much time with a right foot injury. The veteran infielder is a couple games into the resumption of his rehab assignment and isn't expected to be activated for at least another week or so. Once LeMahieu returns, Oswaldo Cabrera and Jon Berti will fill utility roles. Rotowire.com Today, 1:30 pm

  • Held out again Monday
Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees.

Advice: The Mariners have not yet made a roster move with Polanco, but he will miss a sixth straight start Monday with a right hamstring issue. Josh Rojas will handle second base while Luis Urias plays third base. Rotowire.com Today, 1:09 pm

  • Jordan Westburg hitting cleanup for Orioles
Jordan Westburg is hitting cleanup for the Orioles on Monday against the Cardinals.

Advice: With right-hander Sonny Gray on the mound, Ryan Mountcastle is on the bench, which will allow Westburg to slide into the clean-up spot. Westburg has worked to corral his chase rate, which had led to a 22.4 percent strikeout rate in May and a .281/.333/.526 slash line. Now that he’s making better swing decisions, the full-on breakout appears to be on. Ryan O’Hearn is starting at first base and Anthony Santander will hit 5th at designated hitter. • Reaches four times in rehab game
LeMahieu (foot) went 1-for-1 with three walks, two runs and an RBI while playing five innings at third base in Sunday's rehab appearance with Double-A Somerset.

Advice: LeMahieu had plenty of opportunities to put his right foot -- which he broke on a foul ball March 16 -- to the test Sunday given his time in the field and on the basepaths. The veteran infielder is three games into his rehab assignment and has gone 2-for-7 with three walks, two runs and an RBI thus far. Per the Associated Press, LeMahieu is slated to play back-to-back minor-league games Tuesday and Wednesday this week before playing in three consecutive contests over the weekend. He could be activated from the injured list soon thereafter. Rotowire.com Today, 12:09 pm

  • Plates pair in Sunday's loss
Urias sent 2-for-4 with an RBI single, a run-scoring double and a run in a loss to the Orioles on Sunday.

Advice: Urias accounted for almost all of the Mariners' offense on the afternoon, plating Luke Raley and Dylan Moore with a single and double, respectively. The 26-year-old snapped an 0-for-15 skid that had encompassed his previous seven games, and his multi-hit effort was his first in a season during which he's still carrying an abysmal .162/.279/.338 slash line across 86 plate appearances. • Rangers send Davis Wendzel to Triple-A
Rangers optioned INF Davis Wendzel to Triple-A Round Rock.

Advice: Wendzel did not appear in the last homestand and is just 2-for-29 in 17 games with the Rangers this season. He will return to a .314/.419/.657 slash line at Triple-A with three home runs in nine games. His defensive versatility will likely put him in line for another call-up later in the season. • Optioned to Triple-A
The Rangers optioned Wendzel to Triple-A Round Rock on Monday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Wendzel is just 2-for-29 at the plate this season and hadn't played in more than a week, so this transaction comes as no surprise. The Rangers have not announced a corresponding move, but Grant speculates that Sam Huff could be recalled. Rotowire.com Today, 8:49 am
