• Goes deep in defeat
Profar went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Monday's loss to the Reds.

Advice: It looked like San Diego's offense could be in for a big day when Profar led off the bottom of the first inning with a solo shot off Nick Lodolo, but that turned out to be the only hit for the team until the ninth frame. The long ball extended Profar's hitting streak to six games, and he's batted .364 (8-for-22) with a pair of homers, four RBI and six runs during that stretch. Profar has served as San Diego's leadoff man each of the past two contests, and he could stick there for a while if he continues to hit well. Through 122 plate appearances, Profar is slashing .301/.402/.485 with four homers, 19 RBI, 16 runs and a stolen base. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 11:20 pm
  • Jake Fraley goes hitless in sixth straight game
Jake Fraley went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts Monday, leaving him hitless in a sixth straight game.

Advice: Fraley was off to a terrific start and had a case to take over as the Reds’ leadoff man, but he went hitless in three games before missing time with an illness and has remained hitless in three games since returning. He’s struck out in five of his eight at-bats the last two days, and his OPS has dropped from 1.065 two weeks ago to .773 now. Rotoworld Yesterday, 11:05 pm

  • Teoscar Hernández drives in two in victory
Teoscar Hernández finished 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI as the Dodgers topped the Diamondbacks 8-4 on Monday.

Advice: Hernández was the exit velocity champ tonight, hitting balls 110.8, 107.9 and 103.7 mph. His .263/.326/.466 line isn’t quite stellar, but with six homers, 22 RBI and three steals in 31 games, he’s definitely meeting expectations for fantasy purposes. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:41 pm
  • Corbin Carroll settles for lone single in loss
Corbin Carroll contributed a single in four at-bats as the Diamondbacks’ No. 8 hitter on Monday.

Advice: Carroll had two hard-hit balls tonight, including a 408-foot flyout that Statcast said would have been a homer in 17 of 30 ballparks. Power has been the issue for the 23-year-old this season, so this was a pretty good night, even if the box score looks perfectly generic. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:41 pm

  • Swats leadoff homer
Nimmo went 1-for-3 with a solo home run during Monday's 3-1 loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Nimmo's first-inning homer was the lone run scored by the Mets on Monday, as the team was held to four hits in total. The long ball came off Jameson Taillon and was Nimmo's first since Apr. 8. During his last 10 games, Nimmo is batting .182 with eight runs scored. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:54 pm

  • Nolan Jones likely headed to IL with back injury
Luke Zahlmann of The Denver Gazette reports that Nolan Jones (back) is likely headed to the injured list.

Advice: Jones was removed from Sunday’s game with stiffness in his back. The 25-year-old will be replaced on the roster by prospect Jordan Beck, with the transaction likely announced Tuesday. Jones has been a disappointment this year, and now he’ll miss at least a week while recovering from the back ailment. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:39 pm

  • Brandon Nimmo hits leadoff homer in loss to Cubs
Brandon Nimmo belted a leadoff homer on Monday in the Mets’ loss to the Cubs.

Advice: Nimmo took Cubs starter Jameson Taillon deep to open the ballgame with his third long ball of the season. It was the first time he’s gone deep since a two-home explosion back on April 8. Unfortunately, it was all New York’s offense would muster for the remainder of the contest as they wound up with just three additional hits against Taillon and relievers Mark Leiter Jr. and Héctor Neris. • Austin Hays (calf) not doing much activity
Austin Hays (calf) is getting better according to Orioles manager Brandon Hyde, but hasn’t been able to participate in much physical activity.

Advice: Hays was somewhat surprisingly placed on the injured list with a left calf strain last Monday, and it doesn’t appear he’s near a return at this point. The 28-year-old has likely missed enough time that he’ll need a rehab assignment, and it sounds like there’s at least a few more days before Hays takes part in that. Rotoworld Yesterday, 3:42 pm

  • Christian Yelich (back) throws from 120 feet away
Christian Yelich (back) threw from up to 120 feet away before Monday’s game.

Advice: Yelich has also resumed throwing, and the ability to throw from a relative distance is another positive encouragement. This was initially viewed as a potential short-term stint on the injured list, but right now it seems likely that Yelich won’t be back until the early-to-mid portion of May.
