• Adolis García not starting Sunday against Rays
Adolis García is not in the starting lineup for Sunday’s bout against the Rays.

Advice: García will take a seat to begin Sunday’s game as he continues to struggle with a .215/.280/.413 slash, and he’s gone hitless in his last 10 at-bats over three games. Travis Jankowski will be the starting right fielder with Derek Hill the designated hitter. Rotoworld 39 minutes ago

  • Takes third loss in quality start
Lugo (11-3) was tagged with the loss against the Rockies on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks over six innings. He struck out eight.

Advice: Lugo allowed baserunners in five of his six innings of work but managed to limit the damage to three runs (two earned) as Kansas City's offense struggled to get any momentum going behind him. The right-hander induced 15 swings and misses on the night and has now recorded at least five strikeouts in four consecutive starts. Lugo has also posted quality starts in five straight and hasn't given up more than two runs in each of his last five outings. His 2.21 ERA on the season currently leads the majors, while his 11 wins also have him tied with Chris Sale for the league lead. Rotowire.com Today, 6:41 am

  • Strong showing in loss
Gorman went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a run scored in Saturday's 14-6 loss to the Nationals.

Advice: The second baseman banged out the Cardinals' only extra-base hits on the afternoon. Gorman has produced multiple hits in three of five games to begin the month of July, and he appears to be shaking off a brutal slump that saw him slash .083/.151/.155 over the prior 24 games with a bloated 39.8 percent strikeout rate. • Seth Lugo allows three runs in loss to Rockies
Seth Lugo was charged with three runs (two earned) over six innings on Saturday in a loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Lugo fell behind early when he surrendered a two-run homer to Rockies emerging star Brenton Doyle in the second inning. He managed to limit the damage to just a run-scoring single by Ryan McMahon in the fifth-inning, but it was enough to saddle him with a loss for just the third time this year. The 34-year-old righty is tied with Braves ace Chris Sale with a major league-leading 11 wins this season to accompany a sparkling 2.21 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 110/29 K/BB ratio across 122 innings (19 starts). There’s some regression looming, but he’s been a revelation this season in his Kansas City debut. He’ll wrap up the first half on Saturday with a road matchup against the Red Sox at Fenway Park. • Takes third loss
Suarez (10-3) allowed five runs on six hits and two walks while striking out seven over five innings to take the loss versus Atlanta on Saturday.

Advice: Only three Atlanta batters got hits in the contest, but they each had two against Suarez. Ozzie Albies and Marcell Ozuna both homered and combined to drive in all five runs. Suarez has allowed 15 runs (13 earned) across 15.2 innings over his last three starts, accounting for three of the four times he's given up at least four runs this year. He's at a 2.58 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 106:23 K:BB through 108 innings over 18 starts. Suarez will look to end his early-summer swoon in a favorable home start versus the Athletics next week. • Homers in win over Giants
Kwan went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Giants.

Advice: Kwan has gone deep in two of his last three games, and he's hit five homers over his last 17 contests while batting .294 (20-for-68) in that span. While he's cooled off from flirting with a .400 batting average in mid-to-late June, he continues to impress with his consistency at the plate. The outfielder has a .365/.421/.542 slash line for the year to go along with nine homers, 27 RBI, 52 runs scored and four stolen bases over 61 contests. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:54 pm

  • Ranger Suárez struggles in loss to Braves Saturday
Ranger Suárez had his second straight rough outing in Saturday’s loss to the Braves, surrendering five runs on six hits over his five innings of work.

Advice: The 28-year-old southpaw racked up seven strikeouts on the night while issuing a pair of free passes. Most of the damage done against him came via the long ball, with Marcell Ozuna clubbing a two-run homer to cap off a three-run first inning and Ozzie Albies smacking a two-run homer in the fifth. Suárez got 13 swings and misses on 91 pitches on the night, registering a CSW of 27 percent. This was the third straight rough start for Suárez who has seen his impeccable 1.75 ERA swell to 2.58. He’ll look to get back on track and finish the first half strong when he takes on the Athletics at home on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:24 pm
  • Follow-up MRI returns clean
Rodriguez's (shoulder) MRI came back clean Saturday, and he's expected to throw a bullpen session soon, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Saturday's follow-up MRI confirmed that Rodriguez's shoulder has fully healed and marked the southpaw's final checkpoint to clear before beginning mound work. The 31-year-old hasn't pitched in 2024 and will require a lengthy ramp-up period that includes a rehab assignment before being activated from the injured list. Still, Rodriguez could be back in late July or early August. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:45 pm
  • Eduardo Rodriguez to ramp up throwing progression
Eduardo Rodriguez (lat) will ramp up his throwing progression after receiving good news from his follow-up MRI on Saturday.

Advice: The 31-year-old hurler has yet to debut for the Diamondbacks due to a lat injury that has shelved him since spring training. He’ll resume throwing off of flat ground once again and stretch out from there. He’s still a long way away from potentially joining the Diamondbacks’ rotation — especially with all of the setbacks that he has experienced thus far. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:35 pm
