• Logs steal in win
Freeman went 2-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Friday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

Advice: Freeman had been leading off over the last couple of weeks, but that should be done with Steven Kwan (hamstring) returning from the injured list Friday. Freeman was second in the order Friday against southpaw Patrick Corbin, but he'll likely bat lower against right-handers moving forward. Freeman's steal was his second in five games and his eighth of the campaign. He's still at a mediocre .223/.317/.354 slash line with four home runs, 22 RBI, 32 runs scored and 11 doubles over 203 plate appearances overall, but he's hit .295 (18-for-61) over his last 16 contests. • Homers again Wednesday
Gorman went 2-for-5 with a solo homer, an RBI double and two total runs scored in Wednesday's 5-3 win over Cincinnati.

Advice: Gorman extended the Cardinals' lead to 2-0 with an RBI double in the fourth inning before launching a home run off left-hander Brent Suter in the eighth, his 10th long ball of the year and second in as many games. After a sluggish start to the year, Gorman's started to turn things around, going 8-for-21 (.380) with seven RBI in his last six contests. He's boosted his slash line to .220/.308/.451 with 25 RBI, 23 runs scored and two stolen bases through 185 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Wednesday, 5:06 pm

  • Nolan Gorman goes 2-for-5, homers versus Reds
Nolan Gorman went 2-for-5 with a homer versus the Reds in Wednesday’s win.

Advice: The homer appeared to have no shot of exiting as it left his bat, but it kept carrying a projected 378 feet. It was Gorman’s 10th homer of the year. Five of those have come in his last 10 games. Rotoworld Wednesday, 1:40 pm

  • Resumes swinging bat
Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Wednesday that Jung (wrist) "looks great" after resuming hitting, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Advice: Jung was cleared to hit Tuesday following a visit with the doctor that performed the surgery on his right wrist in early April. He hit for a second straight day Wednesday while using a lighter bat, with Bochy saying afterward that "you'd think he was going to be ready in a couple of days" based on how he looked. Jung is not going to be ready to return soon, of course, but this is an encouraging progress report. A clearer timetable for the third baseman could be established in the coming days. • Blasts homer Tuesday
Gorman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Reds.

Advice: Gorman has four homers, two steals, eight RBI and eight runs scored over his last nine games, batting .321 (9-for-28) in that span. It's a good run of consistency at the plate for the infielder, who has struggled to put it all together at times this season. He's at a .214/.306/.428 slash line with nine long balls, 23 RBI, 21 runs scored and two steals through 47 contests overall while holding down a starting role at second base. • Josh Jung (wrist) cleared to resume swinging a bat
Josh Jung (wrist) has been cleared to resume swinging a bat.

Advice: Jung remains several weeks away from returning to Texas’ lineup as he continues to work his way back from early-April surgery on his right wrist. He’s not expected to return until at least late June or early July, even in a best-case scenario. Rotoworld Tuesday, 8:09 pm

  • Knocks three hits
Freeman went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI in Monday's loss to the Rockies.

Advice: Freeman led the game off with a double and scored the first run. He later knocked an RBI single in the second inning and added another double in the ninth. It was his first multi-hit game since going 4-for-4 on May 18. Freeman boosted his slash line to .228/.324/.370 with 15 extra-base hits and 31 runs scored through 189 plate appearances. • Tyler Freeman goes 3-for-5, doubles twice
Tyler Freeman went 3-for-5 and doubled twice as the Guardians’ leadoff man Monday against the Rockies.

Advice: Freeman won’t be spending much time in the leadoff spot after Steven Kwan comes off the IL, but he looks like a lineup fixture right now. His .228/.324/.370 line makes him a league-average hitter, which is kind of sad but also definite progress from the 25-year-old. Rotoworld Monday, 5:15 pm

  • Adds steal Sunday
Freeman went 1-for-3 with a walk, a hit-by-pitch, one RBI and one stolen base in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Angels.

Advice: Freeman is still hitting just .217 on the year, but he's made big strides by batting .302 (13-for-43) over his last 12 contests. He's hit leadoff during that entire span, though his time atop the order will likely end when Steven Kwan (hamstring) returns. Freeman has added a .667 OPS, seven steals, four home runs, 20 RBI and 29 runs scored across 184 plate appearances this season. Rotowire.com Monday, 10:17 am
