• Start could be pushed to Friday
The Orioles are considering pushing Bradish's next scheduled start back a day to Friday in Tampa Bay, Danielle Allentuck of TheBaltimoreBanner.com reports.

Advice: Cade Povich is slated to join Baltimore's taxi squad and looks to be in line to make his major-league debut Thursday in Toronto, which had been Bradish's turn. It does not appear Bradish is battling any physical issue, but rather the team is simply looking to give him a little extra rest. Bradish is coming off his worst start of the season, having allowed five runs on seven hits and three walks over 2.2 frames against the Rays on Saturday. Rotowire.com 28 minutes ago
  • Red Sox may push back Kutter Crawford’s start
The Red Sox are looking at going with a bullpen game on Sunday and pushing Kutter Crawford’s next start back to Tuesday.

Advice: Bad news for those hoping Crawford would bounce back against the White Sox. He’ll instead face the Phillies if the Red Sox follow through on this, though at least he’d be doing so on six days’ rest instead of four. The Red Sox are off Monday, which makes the bullpen game a little more feasible. Rotoworld 47 minutes ago

  • Impresses again in rehab outing
Boyle (back) started Triple-A Las Vegas' win over El Paso on Tuesday, firing three scoreless innings during which he allowed a hit and issued two walks while recording three strikeouts.

Advice: Boyle worked up to 58 pitches -- 35 which he located for strikes -- in his second consecutive scoreless multi-inning rehab outing. The right-hander appears to be ready for activation based on his solid body of work over that pair of starts, and an injury-riddled Athletics starting rotation would undoubtedly benefit from his return. • Navigates through six innings
Spence (4-3) took the loss Tuesday against the Mariners, allowing four runs on nine hits and a walk while striking out three over six innings.

Advice: Spence was able to toss two shutout frames before the Mariners doubled four times in the third, leading to three runs. Spence would allow an additional run in the fourth but was able to go six up and six down over the next two innings to end his outing. Spence was able to reach six innings for the first time this year, though he battled around plenty of hard contact and only punched out three batters against a Mariners team that has the highest strikeout rate in baseball against righties. The 26-year-old owns a 3.86 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 37:13 K:BB in 44.1 innings and lines up for another start over the weekend against the Blue Jays. Rotowire.com Today, 8:23 am

  • Activated for Wednesday's start
The Rays reinstated Eflin (back) from the 15-day injured list ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday versus the Marlins in Miami.

Advice: Tampa Bay optioned right-hander Justin Sterner to Triple-A Durham to clear the way for Eflin's return to the 26-man active roster. Eflin missed just over the minimum 15 days while recovering from lower-back inflammation, and the Rays signed off on him returning from the IL without a rehab assignment after he completed a 40-pitch, two-inning simulated bullpen session Sunday. According to MLB.com, manager Kevin Cash suggested that Eflin could face some limitations with his workload Wednesday, but the Rays will wait and see how the right-hander fares as the game unfolds before making any decisions on whether to cut his start short. • Rays activate Zach Eflin ahead of Wednesday start
Rays activated RHP Zach Eflin from the 15-day injured list.

Advice: Eflin missed a couple of starts with back inflammation. He’ll make his return to the Rays rotation tonight against the Marlins. Rotoworld Today, 8:09 am

  • Cruises to eighth win
Gil (8-1) picked up the win Tuesday, allowing one hit and three walks over six scoreless innings in a 5-1 victory over the Twins. He struck out six.

Advice: The 26-year-old didn't miss a beat after being named the American League Rookie and Pitcher of the Month for May. Gil extended his quality start streak to seven with the performance, and he's won all seven of those outings with an eye-popping 0.60 ERA, 0.67 WHIP and 50:15 K:BB through 44.2 innings. He'll look to keep rolling in his next start, which is scheduled to be a marquee matchup against the Dodgers in Yankee Stadium this weekend. Rotowire.com Today, 8:04 am

  • Goes four innings in bulk relief
Rea didn't factor into the decision Tuesday against the Phillies, allowing four hits and two walks over four scoreless innings. He struck out two.

Advice: Rea entered in the second inning after Jared Koenig opened the game with 1.1 scoreless frames. Rea would manage to hold the Phillies off the board for four innings, though he'd need 70 pitches to record 12 outs. It's the second time that Rea's worked behind an opener so far this year. Overall, he's 4-2 with a 3.53 ERA, 1.35 WHIP and 44:23 K:BB across 63.2 innings. Rea's currently in line for a road matchup with the Tigers on Sunday, though it's unclear if he'll work as a traditional starter or in a bulk role again. Rotowire.com Today, 7:48 am

  • Getting season-ending surgery
The Astros announced that Urquidy will undergo season-ending surgery Wednesday on his right elbow, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Advice: Houston didn't provide any specifics on the nature of the surgery, but more details should come out once the procedure is completed. Urquidy previously underwent Tommy John surgery in 2017 during his time in the minor leagues, so he could instead be getting an internal brace procedure, which would likely shorten his recovery timeline while perhaps increasing the longevity of his career. In any case, Urquidy is being shut down for the rest of the season, and his availability for the start of the 2025 campaign could also be affected regardless of what type of surgery he gets. Urquidy opened the season on the Astros' injured list with a right forearm strain and made three rehab starts before suffering a setback. Rotowire.com Today, 7:48 am
