    • Blows save but notches win
Diaz (3-1) got the win during Sunday's 3-2 victory over the Pirates but also blew the save. He did not allow a run on one hit, one walk and one strikeout over 1.1 innings.

Advice: With the Mets leading 1-0, Diaz entered the game with two outs in the eighth and allowed a walk and the go-ahead hit. After Francisco Lindor gave his team the lead, Diaz came back out and pitched a clean ninth to pick up his third win. The 30-year-old returned from his 10-game suspension on Saturday, and he picked up the save. With Sunday's outing, he hasn't allowed a run in his last six appearances and has lowered his ERA to 4.26.  Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago
    • Smacks two-run homer
Busch went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 5-0 win over the Angels.

Advice: Busch has gone 8-for-25 (.320) with four extra-base hits across his last seven games. His homer provided the Cubs' last runs in the seventh inning of Sunday's win, though he also generated a run despite grounding into a double play in the fifth. The corner infielder is at a .264/.359/.457 slash line with 11 homers, 32 RBI, 40 runs scored and one stolen base across 301 plate appearances this season. Busch isn't strictly limited to a strong-side platoon role, but he'll still sit against some southpaws. Rotowire.com 15 minutes ago

    • Seager homers, drives in three against the Rays
Corey Seager went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, a home run, and three RBI in a 13-2 win over the Rays on Sunday.

Advice: All of that talk about Seager’s early-season struggles, but the 30-year-old is now hitting .271/.352/.473 with 16 home runs and 43 RBI heading into the final week before the All-Star break. With Wyatt Langford surging and both Marcus Semien and Adolis Garcia likely to figure out their current slumps, this Rangers offense could get hot in the second half, and Seager will be right in the middle of it. • Edwin Díaz blows save, earns win against Pirates
Edwin Díaz worked 1 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Pirates. He allowed one hit, one walk, struck out one batter, blew the save, and wound up with the win.

Advice: Back from suspension, Díaz was tasked with a four-out save pitching on back-to-back days. He walked the first batter he saw and allowed both of his inherited runners to score. Then, the Mets grabbed the lead and he came back out to pitch a scoreless ninth inning. Díaz clearly isn’t the same pitcher he was in 2022, but the Mets have absolute trust in him as their closer. • Nick Gonzales briefly puts Pirates ahead
Nick Gonzales went 1-for-4 with two RBI on Sunday against the Mets.

Advice: Gonzales had a clutch knock off Edwin Díaz that drove in two and put the Pirates ahead before Aroldis Chapman gave the game right back. The league has adjusted back to Gonzales after a red-hot start to his season. He’s a free-swinger and pitchers have responded by throwing him fewer and fewer pitches in the strike zone. • Could be activated Tuesday
Phillies manager Rob Thomson said Sunday that Harper (hamstring) is "in play" to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Tuesday's game against the Dodgers, Todd Zolecki of MLB.com reports.

Advice: While Thomson confirmed that Kyle Schwarber (groin) will be back with the big club Tuesday, the skipper was less certain that Harper will be ready to go for the start of the three-game series with the NL West leaders. On a positive note, Harper ran on the field for a second straight day Sunday, with Zolecki relaying that the first baseman appeared to be moving at close to 100 percent intensity. Harper has been on the IL since June 28 with a left hamstring strain, with his absence opening up regular playing time at first base for Kody Clemens against right-handed pitching. • Set to return from IL on Tuesday
The Giants will reinstate Snell (groin) from the 15-day injured list and have him start Tuesday versus the Blue Jays in San Francisco, Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Advice: As he prepares for his first start with the Giants since June following his second IL stint of the season, Snell will be taking the hill on five days' rest. The southpaw endured some bumps in the road in the first of his two rehab outings in his return from a left groin strain, but he was utterly dominant in his final start for Sacramento on Wednesday, tossing five no-hit, shutout innings while striking out nine. He'll tentatively line up for two starts during the upcoming week, with his second outing set to fall next Sunday versus the Twins in the Giants' final game before the All-Star break. • Sitting Sunday
Rodriguez (quadriceps) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Blue Jays but could be available as a pinch hitter, Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com reports.

Advice: The 23-year-old was removed early in Saturday's contest due to discomfort in his lower right quadricep, though it doesn't appear he's dealing with a serious injury. Rodriguez may be available off the bench, but the Mariners could play it safe and give him a couple days to rest up as the team has a scheduled day off Monday. Rotowire.com Today, 11:52 am

    • MRI comes back clean on Rodríguez’s right quad
An MRI on Julio Rodríguez’s right quad showed no stuctural damage.

Advice: Rodríguez is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays, but the outfielder is being kept out for precautionary measures according to manager Scott Servais, and he could be available off the bench. Even with the 23-year-old struggling for most of the 2024 campaign, this is obviously welcome news to fantasy managers who hope to see better things from Rodríguez in the second half of 2024.
