    • Settles for no-decision Monday
King allowed one run on three hits and one walk while striking out seven batters over five innings in a no-decision against Miami on Monday.

Advice: King pitched very well in the outing, but San Diego wasn't able to put its second run on the board until the seventh frame, preventing him from picking up a second consecutive victory. The only run the right-hander allowed came on a third-inning homer by Jazz Chisholm. King has given up one or zero runs in three of his past five starts and has racked up a 34:8 K:BB across 30 innings over that span. He's tentatively slated to make his next start in Kansas City. • Fans seven in no-decision
Snell allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks while striking out seven batters over four innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia on Monday.

Advice: Snell went on the paternity list Thursday while awaiting the birth of his child, but he ended up taking his normal turn in the rotation. The left-hander set a season high with seven punchouts but again failed to complete five innings -- through five starts this season, he's topped out at 4.2 frames. Snell also has yet to allow fewer than three earned runs in an outing, and his ERA for the campaign sits at an unsightly 10.42. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:23 pm

    • King strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Michael King allowed one run in five innings and got a no-decision in the Padres’ 2-1 victory over the Marlins on Monday.

Advice: King allowed three hits, one walk and struck out seven. He left the game with the score tied after five innings. King’s ERA is now 4.09 on the season. His 74 strikeouts this year rank among the top 10 in all of baseball. The 29-year-old right-hander is set to face the Royals on the road this weekend.

    • Snell strikes out seven in no-decision Monday
Blake Snell allowed four runs (three earned) in four innings and got a no-decision in the Giants’ 8-4 victory over the Phillies on Monday.

Advice: Snell allowed five hits, two walks and struck out seven. It’s been a difficult start to the year for the two-time Cy Young award winner. Snell is yet to complete five innings in any of his five starts and has a 10.42 ERA. The seven strikeouts were a season-high at least. The 31-year-old left-hander is set to face the Yankees at home this weekend.

    • Stuck with loss Sunday
Schmidt (5-3) took the loss Sunday against the Padres after allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and three walks while striking out six over five innings.

Advice: Schmidt took a tough-luck loss in a game during which he took a shutout into the sixth inning. The first two batters in the frame would reach via an error and a walk before Schmidt turned things over to the bullpen. From there, Victor Gonzalez would allow both inherited runners to score. Schmidt registered a solid 16 whiffs on the afternoon and has recorded six or more strikeouts in five straight starts. The 28-year-old is showing signs of a legit breakout campaign and will carry a 2.52 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 67:20 K:BB (60.2 innings) into a projected matchup with the Giants this weekend. • Clarke Schmidt strikes out six in loss to Padres
Clarke Schmidt pitched well in a losing effort against the Padres on Sunday afternoon, giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits over his five-plus innings of work.

Advice: The right-hander racked up six strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing three free passes. All of the damage done against him came in the sixth inning, as Schmidt began the inning by allowing Jake Cronenworth to reach on an error and then issuing a walk to Manny Machado. He then turned the ball over to the bullpen who allowed both inherited runners to score. Schmidt got 16 swinging strikes on 101 pitches on the day — 10 of those on his cutter — while posting a CSW of 28 percent. He’ll carry an outstanding 2.52 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and a 67/20 K/BB ratio (60 2/3 innings) into Saturday’s showdown against the Giants in San Francisco. Rotoworld Sunday, 4:10 pm
    • Hit hard again Sunday
Lopez (4-5) allowed six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings, taking the loss Sunday versus the Rangers.

Advice: Corey Seager led the charge against Lopez with two home runs and three RBI. Lopez has now allowed 16 runs and 25 hits over his last 16 innings, with five of those knocks being homers. He had a 3.89 ERA after his May 9 start versus the Mariners, but it's now at 5.25 with a 1.17 WHIP and 69:10 K:BB through 60 innings across 11 outings this season. Lopez is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Astros. Rotowire.com Sunday, 2:44 pm

    • Pablo López struggles again, allows six runs
Pablo López allowed six earned runs in 4 ⅔ innings against the Rangers on Sunday. He struck out six and walked one.

Advice: López continued what’s been a poor season thus far. The six strikeouts were nice, but came with only seven swings and misses. He’s at his best when he’s missing bats with all four of his pitches, but neither his changeup nor curveball induced a whiff in this one. His strong peripherals suggest a bounce back is coming, but a 5.25 ERA on Memorial Day is quite ugly. Rotoworld Sunday, 2:27 pm

    • Blake Snell activated off of paternity list
Giants activated LHP Blake Snell off the paternity list.

Advice: Snell was away from the team for three days. He’s back and will make a start this week against the Phillies. Rotoworld Sunday, 9:02 am
