• Homer, four hits in win
Smith went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and three total RBI in Friday's 12-2 victory over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Smith extended Los Angeles' lead to 3-0 in the third inning with an RBI single before adding a solo home run, his second of the year, off Trevor Richards in the fourth. It's Smith's second straight four-hit game (he's gone 8-for-11 with three extra-base hits in that span) and already his fourth this season. The 29-year-old backstop is off to an excellent start, slashing a robust .376/.413/.527 with 21 RBI and 14 runs scored through his first 104 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:25 pm
  • Takes first loss
Crawford (1-1) took the loss Friday against the Cubs, allowing four runs (three earned) on 10 hits over six innings. He struck out four.

Advice: Crawford allowed a season-high 10 hits Friday, though he'd still manage to make it through six innings for a second straight quality start. It's the first time that Crawford's allowed more than one run in a start this year -- he now sports an impressive 1.35 ERA with a 1.11 WHIP and 34:11 K:BB across six starts (33.1 innings). He's currently in line for a home matchup with the Giants in his next outing. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:10 pm

  • Converts first save
Thielbar allowed a hit and recorded one out to pick up a save over the Angels on Friday.

Advice: Thielbar entered a 5-2 game with two outs and two runners on base. He gave up an RBI single to Zach Neto -- which was charged to Matt Bowman -- before closing out the contest. It was Thielbar's first save of the season. He now owns a 10.38 ERA with 4:2 K:BB through 4.1 frames. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:08 pm
  • Knocks three hits
Neto went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and one RBI in Friday's loss to Minnesota.

Advice: Neto doubled and scored in the sixth inning and later added an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth. After producing just two multi-hit efforts through his first 21 games, the second-year shortstop has collected multiple hits in three of his last four games. He still has plenty of work to do, but his season OPS has jumped from .449 to .646 during this recent hot streak. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:07 pm

  • Falls to 1-4
Sandoval (1-4) allowed four runs (three earned) on nine hits over 5.2 innings Friday, striking out four and taking a loss against Minnesota.

Advice: Sandoval coughed up a solo homer to Carlos Santana in the second inning and the Twins continued to tack on runs throughout the night. Over his last four starts, Sandoval has gone 0-3 while yielding 14 earned runs over 19.2 innings. He generated 13 swinging strikes Friday, his second-highest total of the season. Sandoval will carry a 6.33 ERA into his next matchup, which is projected to be at home against the Phillies next week. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:06 pm
  • Notches second win
Ober (2-1) allowed two runs on three this and three walks over 7.1 innings Friday, striking out eight and earning a win over the Angels.

Advice: Ober fired five shutout frames before the Angels broke through with a run in the sixth inning. After he was throttled for eight runs in his season debut, the 28-year-old righty has given up just four runs over his last four starts, dropping his ERA down to 4.21 through 25.2 innings. He's also posted an impressive 24:6 K:BB through 24.1 frames over his last four outings. Ober is currently in line for a road matchup with the White Sox next week, where he has a good chance to continue riding this momentum. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 9:59 pm
  • Caleb Thielbar gets one-out save against Angels
Caleb Thielbar got the final out Friday and was credited with a save against the Angels.

Advice: Thielbar was tasked with getting the final out after Matt Bowman was unable to get through the inning. Thielbar was able to get that final out, and it gives him a save despite throwing only seven pitches. It seems very unlikely that Thielbar will get many more save chances in the Minnesota bullpen. • Patrick Sandoval shaky over 5 2/3 in loss to Twins
Pablo Sandoval gave up four runs — three earned — over 5 2/3 innings in a loss Friday to the Twins.

Advice: Sandoval is going through it right now. The southpaw allowed nine hits in this outing, and the only positives are four strikeouts with zero walks. That makes 11 runs allowed over his last two starts, and he now is the owner of a 6.33 ERA. Sandoval will pitch better than this, but in large part because it can’t get much worse. The Phillies are not a team fantasy managers should consider streaming Sandoval against next week. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:43 pm
  • Bailey Ober pitches into eighth in win over Angels
Bailey Ober went 7 2/3 innings while allowing two runs with eight strikeouts to get a win Friday over the Angels.

Advice: Ober gave up just three hits, but did walk three while throwing 63-of-96 pitches for strikes. The right-hander breezed through the first five innings without allowing a run, and while he did allow a run in the sixth and eighth, it’s obviously a strong outing for the 28-year-old. Ober has been strong in his last few outings, but his 4.21 ERA is being held hostage but the nine runs he allowed to Kansas City in the first start of the year. Ober is a must-start next week against the White Sox. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:43 pm
