• Expected back Saturday
Lowe (oblique) is expected to be activated from the injured list Saturday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Lowe has been on a rehab assignment for roughly a week, but he was with the big-league club in Chicago on Friday. He's projected to be activated Saturday to make his season debut and will almost certainly occupy a prominent spot in a struggling Rays' lineup. It will also be notable where Lowe plays defensively, as he started three games in center field during his rehab assignment. Rotowire.com 49 minutes ago

  • Willi Castro doubles twice as Twins top Angels
Willi Castro doubled twice while going 3-for-4 in a victory Friday over the Angels.

Advice: Castro has doubled six times on the year with the pair of two-baggers. The 27-year-old also singled to improve his slash to .221/.307/.377. The versatility is nice, but not nice enough to suggest him as an addition to a fantasy roster. Rotoworld Today, 9:43 pm

  • Brandon Marsh collects three hits, homer in rout
Brandon Marsh went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI in a 9-3 rout of the Padres on Friday.

Advice: The Phillies were able to sock five homers on Friday night — four of those off Joe Musgrove — and Marsh took Musgrove deep with a runner on to give Philadelphia a 5-0 lead. He also doubled in a run in the first, and the three-hit night has the 26-year-old slashing .291/.329/.570. Rotoworld Today, 9:28 pm

  • Kyle Schwarber homers, walks twice in blowout
Kyle Schwarber homered and walked twice against the Padres on Friday.

Advice: The Phillies connected on five homers in the blowout win, and Schwarber’s came as the leadoff hitter in the first. The 31-year-old has hit seven homers on the season, and he’ll likely be among the homer leaders throughout the 2024 campaign. Just keep in mind that the other categories will have their ups-and-downs, to put it nicely. Rotoworld Today, 9:28 pm
  • Homers, drives in three
Marsh went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBI in Friday's win over the Padres.

Advice: Marsh knocked an RBI double in the first inning followed by a two-run blast in the third, both coming against Joe Musgrove. It was Marsh's sixth long ball of the year, though he had just one over his previous 11 games before Friday's big performance. He's now slashing .291/.329/.570 with nine extra-base hits and 16 RBI through 85 plate appearances this season. Friday's game was his second multi-hit showing over his last 14 contests. • Knocks grand slam
Haniger went 1-for-4 with a grand slam in Friday's win over Arizona.

Advice: Haniger's grand slam in the sixth inning gave the Mariners enough cushion to pull away with a victory. It was his fourth homer of the season and first since April 15, snapping a seven-game drought. The veteran outfielder is 3-for-25 (.120) with 11 strikeouts and no walks over his last six contests. On the year, Haniger is slashing .244/.306/.422 through 98 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Today, 9:09 pm

  • Mitch Haniger hits grand slam in victory over ARI
Mitch Haniger hit a grand slam in the Mariners’ 6-1 win over the Diamondbacks on Friday.

Advice: Haniger broke open the game with a grand slam to turn a 2-1 lead into a 6-1 cushion. The 33-year-old veteran has driven in 18 runs with the salami over 26 games — putting him at a triple-digit pace — and he’s swatted four homers on the young campaign. There will always be health concerns with Haniger, but he can be an effective option when he’s on the field. Rotoworld Today, 9:08 pm

  • Brent Rooker delivers in 10th as A’s edge Orioles
Brent Rooker went 2-for-4 and hit a go-ahead double in the 10th as the A’s edged the Orioles 3-2 on Friday.

Advice: It seemed like the A’s had botched this one after the automatic runner, who had advanced to third on a groundout to open the top of the 10th, was thrown out in a rundown between third and home for the second out of the inning. Shea Langeliers, who hit the weak grounder resulting in the out, didn’t even try to make it to second while the rundown was ongoing, even though he easily could have. Rooker, though, followed that with a double, and Langeliers scored all of the way from first, thanks in no small part to Colton Cowser missing the cutoff man on the play. Rooker is now batting .200/.290/.527, and even though he’s striking out plenty, he shouldn’t have to worry about sitting much against righties in the near future. Rotoworld Today, 8:33 pm

  • Juan Soto homers and walks in extra-inning loss
Juan Soto homered and walked in an extra-inning loss Friday to the Brewers.

Advice: Juan Soto homers and walks a lot. He took Colin Rea deep in the first for his seventh roundtripper of the campaign, and he’s now driven in 23 runs in just 26 games. Simply put, Soto is one of the best hitters in the sport — obvious point is obvious — and there’s plenty of reason to expect these kind of numbers to continue. Rotoworld Today, 8:29 pm
