• Homers in loss
Semien went 2-for-3 with a solo home run in a 2-1 loss to the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: Semien opened the scoring with a leadoff homer off Tarik Skubal and added a single and a walk in the third and fifth innings. The homer was Semien's first since May 17, and he has now reached base in 10 of his 14 June plate appearances. On the season, Semien is slashing .263/.322/.445 with 10 homers, 35 RBI, and 43 runs scored in 270 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 8:09 pm
  • Semien hits leadoff home run Monday
Marcus Semien went 2-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run against the Tigers on Monday.

Advice: The home run was Semien’s 10th of the season. He only has one stolen base on the year, but with 43 runs and 35 RBI he’s continued to be one of the most consistent players in fantasy baseball. Rotoworld Yesterday, 7:39 pm
  • Could hit off bench
Arraez (shoulder) might be available to pinch hit Monday against the Angels, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Arraez departed Sunday's game against the Royals after a slide into second base, and his name wasn't listed in the starting lineup for Monday's matchup. "Luis came in today, feels better," said manager Mike Shildt. "We don't feel like it's anything structural, which is another thing that's encouraging. It's just a matter of he's sore. Got some stiffness, some soreness." The Padres appear to be exercising caution with Arraez and could use him in a pinch-hit scenario Monday evening if the situation arises. • Moving rehab to Triple-A
Perdomo (knee) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Reno on Wednesday, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Advice: Perdomo was cleared for at-bats in the Arizona Complex League over the weekend, and the club has since determined that he's ready to face stronger competition. He'll likely play at least a few games at Triple-A before being activated from the 10-day injured list. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 4:31 pm

  • Luis Arraez out of lineup with shoulder injury
Luis Arraez is absent from Monday’s lineup after leaving Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury.

Advice: Arraez said Sunday that he’d be ready for this one, but either that wasn’t the case or the Padres aren’t letting him try. Consider him day-to-day for now. The Padres have Donovan Solano at first base in his place. Rotoworld Yesterday, 4:10 pm

  • Not starting Monday
Arraez is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the Angels after exiting Sunday's game in the fifth inning due to an apparent neck/shoulder injury.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Arraez wasn't able to finish out Sunday's series finale following an awkward slide into second base, and the injury appears to be bothering him enough to keep him out of Monday's matchup. The Padres have yet to provide an update on Arraez's status, so he'll be considered day-to-day until more information comes to light. Donovan Solano will start at first base Monday, while Jurickson Profar will serve as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 3:53 pm

  • Report: Tucupita Marcano faces gambling ban
Tucupita Marcano could receive a lifetime ban from MLB for betting on baseball, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.

Advice: That’d be awfully unfortunate for Marcano, a 24-year-old who has been out since last August due to a torn ACL and was slated to resume playing in minor league games sometime soon. Marcano hit .217/.269/.320 in 447 at-bats for the Padres and Pirates from 2021-23. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:15 pm

  • Facing possible ban for gambling
Major League Baseball is currently investigating Marcano (knee) for a violation of the sport's gambling policy, which could result in a lifetime ban, Jared Diamond and Lindsey Adler of The Wall Street Journal Report report.

Advice: According to the report, four other minor-league players are under investigation along with Marcano, a 24-year-old infielder who has been on the Padres' 10-day injured list all season while he completes his recovery from a torn ACL. Per Jeff Passan of ESPN.com, while MLB's investigation isn't yet complete, a penalty for Marcano could be imposed in the coming days. Marcano has seen big-league action in each of the previous three seasons as a member of the Padres and Pirates, slashing .217/.269/.320 with five home runs and seven stolen bases across 447 career plate appearances. • Luis Arraez (shoulder) hopeful to play Monday
Luis Arraez (shoulder) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he was fine and would be in the Padres’ lineup on Monday.

Advice: The 27-year-old wizard with the bat suffered a shoulder injury while sliding into second base in the fifth inning on Sunday. It looks like it’s only a minor issue though and not something that is going to keep Arraez out of action. Be sure to check the Padres’ lineup prior to Monday’s battle against the Diamondbacks, but if Arraez has his way he’ll be in there. Rotoworld Yesterday, 9:02 am
