• Luis Arraez returns to lineup Tuesday vs. Angels
Luis Arraez (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Tuesday’s showdown against the Angels.

Advice: Arraez is back at designated hitter and leading off on Tuesday night in Los Angeles following a brief one-game absence due to relatively minor right shoulder and neck issues. The 27-year-old contact-oriented infielder has been excellent since arriving in San Diego, batting .391 (43-for-110) with one homer and three steals across 26 contests. Rotoworld Tuesday, 3:50 pm

  • Rejoining lineup Tuesday
Arraez (shoulder/neck) is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Tuesday against the Angels.

Advice: The 27-year-old sat out Monday's contest due to the shoulder/neck injury he suffered on a slide Sunday, and he'll be eased back into the lineup Tuesday in a non-defensive capacity. Arraez is in the midst of an eight-game hit streak, during which he's batting .375 with no extra-base hits, five RBI and five runs. Rotowire.com Tuesday, 3:38 pm

  • Records sixth steal
Westburg went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in Monday's 7-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Advice: Westburg has hit safely in his last eight games, going 12-for-31 (.387) in that span. The steal was his first since May 11 and his sixth on nine attempts this season. It's unlikely Westburg will be negatively impacted by the Orioles' promotion of Connor Norby to replace Jorge Mateo (concussion) on the 26-man roster -- Westburg should continue to see near-everyday playing time between third base and second base. The 25-year-old is slashing .292/.348/.510 with nine home runs, 36 RBI and 30 runs scored over 222 plate appearances as he enjoys a breakout in his second major-league campaign. • Luis Arraez (shoulder) doesn’t play against Angels
Luis Arraez, day-to-day with a shoulder injury, was quite obviously not available as a pinch-hitter Monday in a 2-1 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Padres manager Mike Shildt indicated before the game that Arraez might be available off the bench tonight but then held him out while using David Peralta and Tyler Wade as pinch-hitters in the seventh and ninth innings, respectively. It could be a sign that the Padres are downplaying their concern with Arraez’s shoulder after he was injured Sunday. We’ll check back in on Tuesday. Rotoworld Monday, 9:19 pm

  • Could hit off bench
Arraez (shoulder) might be available to pinch hit Monday against the Angels, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Advice: Arraez departed Sunday's game against the Royals after a slide into second base, and his name wasn't listed in the starting lineup for Monday's matchup. "Luis came in today, feels better," said manager Mike Shildt. "We don't feel like it's anything structural, which is another thing that's encouraging. It's just a matter of he's sore. Got some stiffness, some soreness." The Padres appear to be exercising caution with Arraez and could use him in a pinch-hit scenario Monday evening if the situation arises. • Luis Arraez out of lineup with shoulder injury
Luis Arraez is absent from Monday’s lineup after leaving Sunday’s game with a shoulder injury.

Advice: Arraez said Sunday that he’d be ready for this one, but either that wasn’t the case or the Padres aren’t letting him try. Consider him day-to-day for now. The Padres have Donovan Solano at first base in his place. Rotoworld Monday, 4:10 pm

  • Not starting Monday
Arraez is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the Angels after exiting Sunday's game in the fifth inning due to an apparent neck/shoulder injury.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Arraez wasn't able to finish out Sunday's series finale following an awkward slide into second base, and the injury appears to be bothering him enough to keep him out of Monday's matchup. The Padres have yet to provide an update on Arraez's status, so he'll be considered day-to-day until more information comes to light. Donovan Solano will start at first base Monday, while Jurickson Profar will serve as the designated hitter. Rotowire.com Monday, 3:53 pm

  • Luis Arraez (shoulder) hopeful to play Monday
Luis Arraez (shoulder) told reporters after Sunday’s game that he was fine and would be in the Padres’ lineup on Monday.

Advice: The 27-year-old wizard with the bat suffered a shoulder injury while sliding into second base in the fifth inning on Sunday. It looks like it’s only a minor issue though and not something that is going to keep Arraez out of action. Be sure to check the Padres’ lineup prior to Monday’s battle against the Diamondbacks, but if Arraez has his way he’ll be in there. Rotoworld Monday, 9:02 am

  • Luis Arraez exits game Sunday with apparent injury
Luis Arraez was removed from Sunday afternoon’s game against the Royals due to an apparent injury.

Advice: Arraez was thrown out at second base attempting to stretch a single into a double in the top half of the fifth inning. He remained in the game for another inning defensively, but was ultimately replaced by Tyler Wade when the Padres took the field in the sixth inning. It looked like he may have done something to his right arm, but it’s difficult to speculate. Expect the Padres to provide an update on his status shortly. Rotoworld Sunday, 1:03 pm
