• JJ Bleday homers twice in Oakland’s victory
JJ Bleday delivered his second and third homers of the year Tuesday as the A’s topped the Pirates 5-2.

Advice: Bleday’s best game of the season saw him launch balls 417 and 399 feet and improve his season line to .243/.304/.417. He’s not consistently hitting the ball hard enough to inspire a ton of faith, but he’s Oakland’s best center field option for now. Rotoworld 5 minutes ago

  • Mason Miller strikes out side in earning save
Mason Miller struck out all three batters he faced Tuesday for a save against the Pirates.

Advice: It’s fine to marvel at Miller’s numbers in the closer’s role to date, but this is what an ace-level talent should be doing while pitching two or three innings per week. There’s a very good chance Miller would struggle to hold up as a starter, but we might never find out for sure. As is, Miller has a 1.35 ERA and eight saves in 13 1/3 innings. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • Mitch Keller gives up three runs in loss to A’s
Mitch Keller dropped to 2-3 after allowing three runs in five innings Tuesday against the A’s.

Advice: Keller struck out seven tonight, so that’s not bad. Still, he should have far better than a 5.18 ERA while facing a pretty easy schedule to date. His slider is just broken, and his lack of a true offspeed pitch has caught up to him big time. There’s still plenty of hope here for the long run, but we’d feel better about him if he pitched for a team with more of a clue. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • Lawrence Butler strikes out four times
Leading off for the second time this season, Lawrence Butler struck out all four times he was up Tuesday against the Pirates.

Advice: Those was four of Oakland’s nine strikeouts on the night. Boasting excellent exit velocity numbers, Butler’s xStats are far better than his current .195/.305/.325 line. and he might be somewhat interesting on another team. He might be a 2025 sleeper once the A’s move into a ballpark that’s quite a bit friendlier to hitters. Rotoworld 6 minutes ago

  • Goes yard again
Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run during Tuesday's 7-5 loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Rengifo gave the Angels a lead in the sixth inning, tagging reliever Yunior Marte for a three-run shot to plate Taylor Ward and Brandon Drury. After going homerless in his first 22 games, Rengifo has clobbered long balls in two of his last three contests and has scored five times in his last five games. Rotowire.com 14 minutes ago

  • Hits game-tying homer
Castellanos went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run scored during Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Angels.

Advice: Castellanos kicked off a three-run ninth inning for Philadelphia, tagging Angels closer Carlos Estevez for a solo home run to knot the game up at five. After starting the season batting .153 with two runs scored in his first 20 games, Castellanos has started to turn the corner, scoring nine times with a .262 batting average since. • Has nightmare ninth
Estevez (0-1) blew the save and took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs on three hits with two strikeouts over two-thirds of an inning against Philadelphia.

Advice: Each of the three hits against Estevez went for extra bases, with Nick Castellanos hitting a solo homer and Johan Rojas bringing in Bryson Stott -- who reached on a ground-rule double -- on a two-run homer to give the Phillies the lead. Estevez has now surrendered one or more runs in three of his last four appearances, a stretch that ballooned his ERA from 0.00 to 6.23 and resulted in a pair of blown saves. While his closing job seems to be safe for now, Matt Moore and Luis Garcia would be the names to know if Estevez begins to cede ninth-inning work. Rotowire.com 22 minutes ago
  • Winds up with save
Hoffman picked up the save Tuesday, striking out one during a perfect inning against the Angels.

Advice: Hoffman was thrust into a save chance after the Phillies took the lead with a three-run top of the ninth and came through for his second save of the season. He hasn't allowed a run in 8.2 straight innings and owns a 1.29 ERA as a setup man for Jose Alvarado. Rotowire.com 27 minutes ago
  • Locks down quality start
Anderson didn't factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing three runs on five hits and two walks over six innings against Philadelphia. He struck out six.

Advice: Anderson secured his fourth quality start of the campaign Tuesday and logged at least six K's for a second consecutive outing. All of the damage against Anderson came in the second inning when Kyle Schwarber launched a three-run homer. Although Anderson has surrendered five home runs in his last four starts, he still owns a solid 3.63 ERA with 19 strikeouts during that stretch. Rotowire.com 31 minutes ago
