      Advice: Lopez worked around some trouble throughout the contest and turned in one of his best starts of the year. He recorded a season-high eight strikeouts with 16 whiffs, including nine with his slider. It was the first time he recorded more than five punchouts in a start since April 30.       Reynaldo López limited the A’s to one run in six innings and struck out eight in Atlanta’s 4-2 victory Friday.

      Advice: Another quality start moves him to 3-2 with a 1.73 ERA. That López has had a very light schedule has played some role in his success to date. His 10 starts have seen him face none of the league’s top five offenses by OPS yet each of the bottom four (the Mariners, Pirates, Marlins and White Sox).       Tanner Houck delivered a dominant performance in Friday night’s victory over the Tigers, allowing just one run on three hits over seven stellar innings.

      Advice: The 27-year-old hurler racked up six strikeouts on the evening while issuing a pair of free passes. The lone tally against him came on an RBI single by Gio Urshela in the opening inning. After that, the Tigers never really threatened against him. Houck got 10 swings and misses on 95 pitches on the night, posting a CSW of 32 percent.       Astros’ manager Joe Espada did not give an update on right-handers Cristian Javier and Jose Urquidy on Friday, aside from saying that he’s giving both pitchers space while they are awaiting second opinions.

      Advice: If that’s not discouraging enough, Espada also refused to comment when asked if the pitchers’ UCL’s were intact. Lovely.       Advice: Lopez pitched on four days of rest for the second time all season Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) in 4.2 innings -- his shortest start of the season. Rather than sending him to the mound after a traditional four-day rest period again, Atlanta will push his next start back and give the ball to Ray Kerr to close out its current series against Washington. The team hasn't yet announced when Lopez's next start will come, though it's possible he simply moves back a day to start Friday's series opener against the Athletics.       Advice: Harrison's final line ultimately could've looked a lot worse, as he surrendered a career-most 12 hits. The 22-year-old southpaw's hit a rough patch of late, giving up three or more runs over five innings in each of his last four starts. Harrison's ERA is up to 4.15 through 12 starts (65 innings) this year with a 1.40 WHIP and 60:22 K:BB.
