    Rodgers went 2-for-2 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 loss to the White Sox.

    Advice: Rodgers opened the scoring with a solo home run in the second inning, walked and scored in the fifth and then added a single in the seventh. The second baseman has been great in June, hitting .340 with three home runs and 10 RBI despite missing about two weeks with a hamstring injury.     Advice: Sosa singled in the third inning, hit a two-run home run in the fifth and then walked and scored in the eighth. Since June 18, Sosa was in a 2-for-33 slump but broke out of it in a big way Friday.     Luis Garcia Jr. went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI against the Rays on Saturday.

  • Lowe homers in return to lineup Saturday
    Brandon Lowe went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk against the Nationals on Saturday.



    Advice: Lowe’s home run was his sixth of the season. It was certainly good to see him do something productive in his first game back in the Rays’ lineup since breaking his pinkie toe. With Lowe, you have to worry about when the next injury might come. He’s a decent power option in the middle infield as long as he’s playing. Lowe has a .218 average .756 OPS with 23 RBI on the season.

  • Brandon Drury (illness) misses ninth straight game
    Brandon Drury (illness) was held out of the Angels’ lineup once again for Saturday evening’s tilt against the Tigers.

    Advice: It’s the ninth consecutive game that Drury has missed due to illness, though he remains on the active roster and has been with the team at the ballpark for each game. Luis Rengifo will slide over and cover second base in this one while Miguel Sano starts at the hot corner and bats cleanup against Reese Olson and the Tigers on Saturday night.     Jonathan India went 2-for-5 with two doubles, one run scored, and two RBI against the Cardinals on Saturday.

    Advice: India put the Reds on the board in the third inning with a double to plate Austin Wynns from second base. He then scored on a double by Elly De La Cruz. He later doubled for a second time to drive in one more run in the seventh. The 27-year-old second baseman has had an incredible month, hitting .386 in June.     Advice: Trejo was jettisoned from the 40-man roster Friday to make room for Aaron Schunk, and he'll now look for another opportunity elsewhere after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 28-year-old has slashed just .143/.182/.143 in 67 plate appearances this season, and any offer he receives from another organization would almost certainly come in the form of a minor-league deal.
