• Jake Bauers delivers grand slam in Brewers’ win
Jake Bauers hit a grand slam off Nathan Eovaldi as the Brewers edged the Rangers 6-5 in 10 innings Wednesday.

Advice: Midgame replacement Andruw Monasterio delivered the game-winning single in the bottom of the 10th. It was a little surprising to see Bauers start over Tyler Black today, but Pat Murphy seems to have made the right call. Bauers’ 444-foot slam was the first ever surrendered by Eovaldi. It was the second of his career, and his seventh homer in 192 plate appearances this season. Rotoworld Yesterday, 2:18 pm

  • Nolan Jones doubles, scores run in losing effort
Nolan Jones went 1-for-2 with a double on Wednesday in the Rockies’ loss to the Astros.

Advice: It’s been a tough season for Jones on the heels of last year’s unexpected breakthrough campaign, but he’s starting to show some signs of life recently, hitting .279 (12-for-43) with one homer and one steal over his last 15 games. The fact that he’s starting to hit for a little bit of power is an encouraging sign after injuries derailed the first few months of the season for him. Rotoworld Yesterday, 1:59 pm

  • On bench against righty
Brennan is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Brennan will sit for the third time in four games, though Wednesday's contest marks the first occasion during that stretch that he's been on the bench against a right-hander (Grayson Rodriguez). Daniel Schneemann will occupy Brennan's usual spot in right field. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:54 pm

  • Held out against righty again
Cowser is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Advice: Cowser belted his 10th home run of the season in Tuesday's loss to the Guardians, but he nonetheless finds himself on the bench for the second time during the three-game series. Both of those absences came against right-handed pitchers, so the lefty-hitting Cowser could be in danger of losing out on a regular spot in the outfield to fellow lefty hitter Heston Kjerstad, who will make his second start of the series following his call-up from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. • Luke Raley scratched due to sore shoulder
Luke Raley didn’t play Wednesday due to a sore shoulder, the Mariners finally disclosed.

Advice: They could have said this when they scratched him before the game, but that’s no fun. Manager Scott Servais hopes to have Raley back Friday after the off day tomorrow. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:38 pm

  • Misses game with sore shoulder
Mariners manager Scott Servais said Raley was scratched from the lineup ahead of Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rays due to a sore shoulder, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Advice: Raley had been slated to start in left field, but the Mariners dropped him from the lineup after his shoulder wouldn't fully loosen up on him in the batting cage prior to the game. The Mariners don't seem to be too concerned about the issue, as Servais said he's hopeful that Raley will be ready to go for this weekend's series versus Minnesota following Thursday's team off day, per Shannon Drayer of SeattleSports.com. • Colton Cowser sits against Guardians on Wednesday
Even though he homered Tuesday, Colton Cowser is on the bench in favor of Heston Kjerstad on Wednesday.

Advice: This hardly seems fair to Cowser. A left-handed hitter, he’s now been on the bench the last two times the Orioles have faced a righty and started both games against lefties, even though he has perfectly normal splits (.769 OPS versus righties, .679 OPS against lefties). If the Orioles keep using him like this, there’s a good chance they’ll eventually have a better excuse for sending him down. Rotoworld Yesterday, 12:32 pm

  • Out of lineup against lefty again
Peralta is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.

Advice: The lefty-hitting Peralta will take a seat for the third game in a row, with the Padres having faced left-handed starting pitchers in each of those contests. The Padres should still have a regular spot in the lineup for Peralta against right-handed pitching, and Fernando Tatis' (quadricep) recent move to the injured list likely gives Peralta a longer leash. Peralta has gotten off to a slow start since joining the Padres' active roster May 22, slashing .200/.302/.236 with no home runs over 63 plate appearances. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:31 pm
  • Starting against right-hander again
Taylor will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

Advice: The right-handed-hitting Taylor has started in both of the Mets' first two games in right field since Starling Marte (knee) landed on the 10-day injured list, even as the opposition has sent a righty to the bump both times. DJ Stewart will also be in the right-field mix while Marte is shelved, but Taylor looks to be the preferred option for now. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 12:25 pm
