    • Mitch Garver homers and walks in loss to Royals
Mitch Garver homered and walked in a loss Saturday to the Royals.

Advice: Garver kept a ball just inside the left-field foul pole to pick up his seventh homer of the year. The 33-year-old also drew a walk to improve his slash to .180/.292/.348. It’s worth pointing out that he’s registered an OPS of .937 in June, however, and he’s a good bet to hit (much) better over the second half of 2024. Rotoworld 35 minutes ago

    • Francisco Lindor reaches three times in London opener
Francisco Lindor went 2-for-4 with a walk on Saturday in the Mets’ loss to the Phillies.

Advice: Lindor was one of the few bright spots for the Mets during Saturday’s London Series opener as he wound up reaching base safely in ftrhee of his five plate appearances. The 30-year-old shorstop is batting .300 (6-for-20) with one homer and one steal in six games since June 1. Rotoworld Today, 1:04 pm

    • Orion Kerkering whiffs three in relief vs. Mets
Orion Kerkering struck out three over 1 1/3 innings on Saturday against the Mets.

Advice: Kerkering came on to strike out Francisco Lindor to end the sixth inning, stranding a pair of inherited runners in the process, before coming back out to work a flawless seventh inning as well. The 23-year-old righty opened the season on the injured list, but has been phenomenal since returning, posting a sublime 1.19 ERA, 0.84 WHIP and 24/4 K/BB ratio across 22 2/3 innings (21 appearances). • Goes four frames in rehab start
Miller (shoulder) tossed four-plus innings in a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out two batters.

Advice: This was Miller's third minor-league rehab appearance, and he's gradually worked up from three frames in his first rehab outing to four innings Friday. The righty hurler wasn't at his sharpest, but he approached a full workload with 85 pitches and sat at 97-98 mph with his fastball, per Eric Stephen of SBNation.com, after experiencing reduced velocity in his prior outing. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said prior to Miller's outing Friday that it could be the pitcher's final minor-league appearance before returning to the big club, per Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic, but a decision on Miller's next step has not yet been announced. He's struggled throughout his rehab stint, collecting a 6.97 ERA, 1.74 WHIP and 6:5 K:BB across 10.1 frames. Rotowire.com Today, 11:40 am

    • Not starting Saturday
Suzuki (oblique) isn't in the Cubs' lineup for Saturday's game against the Reds.

Advice: Suzuki was hit in the left side by a throw while stealing second base during Friday's loss, and he was later taken out of the game as a precaution after he felt his oblique tighten up. It's still unclear how serious his injury is, but the Cubs will play it safe Saturday and keep him sidelined. His absence will move Christopher Morel into the DH spot while Patrick Wisdom starts at third base. Rotowire.com Today, 11:01 am

    • Bell: CES (wrist) to resume swinging this month
Reds manager David Bell told reporters Saturday that Christian Encarnacion-Strand (wrist) is expected to start swinging a bat in a few weeks.

Advice: Bell added that Encarnacion-Strand will ramp-up his strength training next week and should be cleared to begin hitting again at some point in June. The 24-year-old slugger has been out since early May recovering from a right wrist fracture. It’s starting to look like he won’t return until sometime after next month’s All-Star break. • Seiya Suzuki out Saturday due to side tightness
Seiya Suzuki (side) is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Reds.

Advice: It doesn’t come as a surprise to see the Cubs proceeding cautiously here after Suzuki left Friday’s showdown for precautionary reasons due to left side tightness. The 29-year-old corner outfielder has dealt with oblique issues on both sides over the last few years, so it’s understandable that Chicago doesn’t want to take any chances here. Fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Rotoworld Today, 10:43 am

    • Getting breather Saturday
Langford is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Giants.

Advice: Langford will sit for the first time since returning from the IL on May 28 due to a hamstring injury. Since his return, Langford has slashed .235/.257/.324 with four RBI over 34 at-bats. The lefty-hitting Travis Jankowski will start in left field Saturday and bat seventh against Giants right-hander Spencer Howard. Rotowire.com Today, 9:49 am

    • Wyatt Langford absent from Saturday’s lineup
Wyatt Langford is not in the lineup for Saturday’s contest against the Giants.

Advice: Langford heads to the bench with backstop Jonah Heim at designated hitter and veteran Travis Jankowski drawing a rare start in left field. The 22-year-old rookie is batting .235 with zero homers and four RBI in nine contests since returning from the injured list back on May 28. Rotoworld Today, 9:42 am
