    • Blasts two homers Saturday
Martinez went 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, three total RBI and two walks in Saturday's 5-1 win against the Padres.

Advice: Martinez reached in all five of his plate appearances and registered his first multi-homer game of the season. The veteran slugger has gone deep three times in his past three games and has at least one RBI in six of his past seven contests. Of Martinez's past six hits, five (two doubles and three homers) have gone for extra bases. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:34 pm
    • Wild again in defeat
Mazur (0-2) took the loss against the Mets on Saturday, allowing two runs on three hits and six walks while striking out four batters over 3.2 innings.

Advice: Mazur has struggled to find the strike zone through his first three big-league outings, racking up 13 walks over 12.2 frames. Surprisingly, none of Mazur's career-high six free passes Saturday resulted in a score -- the rookie managed to wiggle out of a constant stream of baserunners until a pair of Mets doubles in the fourth inning resulted in New York's first run. Nonetheless, Mazur isn't likely to find major-league success if he continues to issue free passes at his current rate, and he could be pushed out of San Diego's rotation if Yu Darvish (groin) is able to return to action next week. • Logs steal in loss
Ahmed went 1-for-3 with a stolen base in Saturday's 4-3 loss to the Angels.

Advice: Ahmed has gone 3-for-7 over two games since he returned from a five-week absence due to a wrist injury. It looks like he'll reclaim a starting job at shortstop, though the Angels have faced a pair of southpaws since Ahmed's return. The righty-hitting infielder was starting prior to his injury, but lefty-hitting Brett Wisely has batted .311 and saw a large share of playing time while Ahmed was out. Ahmed is slashing .248/.282/.299 with no home runs, one steal, 11 RBI and 10 runs scored over 126 plate appearances this season and is primarily valued for his defense rather than his bat. • Quiets Padres on Saturday
Quintana (2-5) earned the win over San Diego on Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and two walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

Advice: The only run Quintana allowed in the outing came on a fifth-inning Jackson Merrill solo homer. In fact, that was the only hit Quintana surrendered aside from a Fernando Tatis double in the first frame. This was the fourth time Quintana has given up fewer than two runs in a start this season, though it was the first instance in which such a performance resulted in a victory. The veteran's six strikeouts Saturday marked a season high. Rotowire.com Yesterday, 10:18 pm
    • Stuck with loss Saturday
Walker (4-3) allowed an unearned run on a hit and a walk with one strikeout over one inning to take the loss Saturday versus the Angels.

Advice: Walker's scoreless streak ended at 5.1 innings, though a two-out throwing error by Curt Casali contributed to the Giants giving up the decisive run in the seventh inning. Walker has allowed four runs (three earned) over 7.1 innings in June, and he's added four holds this month as he continues to see an increasingly large high-leverage role. He's at a 2.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 46:7 K:BB with 13 holds over 36.1 innings this season. While it hasn't happened yet in 2024, Walker would likely be next in line for save chances whenever Camilo Doval is unavailable, as Tyler Rogers has typically struggled when given ninth-inning assignments. • Andrew Vaughn homers again in rout of D-Backs
Andrew Vaughn went 2-for-5 with a homer and three RBI Saturday in a win over the Diamondbacks.

Advice: It’s been a fantastic June for Vaughn, even with the White Sox playing at an absolutely abhorrent level. The 26-year-old hit a two-run blast off Bryce Jarvis in the fifth, and the first baseman drove in another run with a single two innings earlier. Vaughn ended May with a .577 OPS, and the current slash of .227/.283/.386 helps tell the story of how good he’s been since. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm
    • Lenyn Sosa homers, drives in three in blowout win
Lenyn Sosa went 3-for-5 with a three-run homer to help the White Sox to a 9-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Sosa nearly doubled the lead for the White Sox with a three-run homer to make it 7-2 in the seventh. The 24-year-old also doubled and singled. There have been some flashes for Sosa thus far in 2024 — albeit inconsistent ones — and the three-hit game improves his slash to .250/.291/.392. He remains much more a long-term option than a quality one for the remainder of this campaign. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm

    • Scott McGough works 2 1/3 as opener vs. White Sox
Scott McGough allowed a run over 2 1/3 innings in a start against the White Sox on Saturday.

Advice: McGough was essentially an opener for a bullpen day, but he ended up going deeper than the arms behind him. The right-hander struck out two while issuing one walk. There’s a good chance McGough works in a similar capacity next week against the Phillies, but there’ll be no reason for fantasy consideration. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm
    • Erick Fedde hurls six strong in victory over ARI
Erick Fedde went six innings while allowing two runs to get a win over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Advice: Fedde did allow eight hits, but he didn’t put anyone on via walk while striking out six. The right-hander gave up runs in the first and fifth inning and he was able to avoid the big inning for another strong outing for the 31-year-old. The White Sox have been a disaster, but Fedde has been an absolute bright spot with a 3.09 ERA through 87 1/3 innings. He’s scheduled to take on the Tigers on Friday. Rotoworld Yesterday, 10:08 pm
